Issue with changing avatar

I'm trying to change my avatar, but it seems like there is an issue because it's not letting me do so.

I can upload the image, but when I click "Okay", I just get the "Oops, we ran into some problems" popup, with the only other information being a single period (.).

I have tried both JPG and PNG formats, and both of them are definitely bigger than 400 x 400 pixels. Is there a max image size or something?

Does anyone know what might be going on?

Try resizing your images to 400x400 before uploading and let me know if it continues?

That seemed to work! Thank you so much. I think I was probably using way too big a file because even a 1,000 x 1,000 pixel image worked.
