ISU announcement about Grand Prix

This isn't official anywhere I can see, but one of the mods (SUN) on FSU has posted that one of the changes will be that for pairs and dance, in case of break ups, if one of the partners gets a new partner, but would have qualified for a GP event with his/her old partner, they will qualify for a GP assignment (assuming there is no change-of-country issue that blocks competition for the GP season):

That's good news for Buntin, Zavozin, Senft, Gislason, Pratt, Gilles, Demers-Boutin, Joncas, Moyle, and Seitz, should any of them decide to pair up with a skater from their country.

Well, Gislason has already paired up with Morgan Matthews, and it doesn't appear that they will be able to skate any time before 2008-2009 (if then), since Morgan would be switching countries.

However, note that the GP eligibility (for the others you mentioned, if they choose a partner from the same country they skated for last year) would be as subsitutes only, not for original assignments.

what ever happens to Zavosin?. He wasn't, imo, a natural, but he was especially astute about being technical. are there any dance ladies looking for a partner?
