ISU skating awards voting open

i know which one he should care about :ROFLMAO:

i'm tempted to have a category named after him: most sober coach reaction (the golden Kusaka)
Please! We could also have a retro section so that moment of Brian Orser realising he'd forgotten someone could be immortalised :)

Totally agree with Pirihara. I would give them a nomination for a free as well (maybe even more for a free). Yet there's none.

Also, Bruno Marcotte did excellent job with Riku and Ryuichi - not only developing them so well, preparing to the olympics where they showed up in best form ever but also helping them after tough mistake not to loose composure and confidence. It really impressed me, perhaps not ISU though.

I realized after I posted that I had the wrong program. It was the crazy choreo sequence that had me emailing a link to my daughter.

I haven't checked all the nominees, but I have a feeling that the nominators only looked at very well-known (successful) teams. That is just wrong. Some of the most entertaining programs (and most creative costumes) come from skaters who are not as well known or come from smaller (in skating terms) countries.

it depends which agent you've got ... these awards are a joke... but so are most awards :) are the grammy's really given to the best musicians ? no. they are given to the famous ones with good representation. Of course, the winners can be also worthy of winning but they were pre-selected from a pool of the more famous people. There are many musicians out there doing incredible work in other settings that are never ever going to be recognized.

Agree. Also, unlike the grammys etc., these awards are not prestigious at all and winning it doesn't mean anything,

There were two pieces of choreography this season that stood out and should have been nominated if ISU was serious regarding quality choreo promotion:

Kana Muramoto - Mayuko Oka's "Peacock" short program
Alex Johnson - Yuna Aoki's "La la land" free skate

Just saying.

I think the cathegory "most entertaining program" is a bit unfortunate and misleading, cause the word "entertaining" imples a fun and showy, while there are many programs that are spectacular and touching but in a different way (more lyrical or sublime) and there seem to not fit this cathegory but there's no other one to reward them.
