It's sure is a shame Jeff did not make the worlds this year. He really had a battle there getting sick and trying to compete. Oh well, I wish him well for next year! Sure going to miss seeing him though, I love to watch him skate!!!! I think he has the best program this season - music and choreogrpahy.

I'll miss him too, I really wish he was on the team but he had a very bad performance at Nationals and then got sick and 4CC didn't work for him because he was still sick which makes me wonder if it would be better to select a team for worlds, euros, 4cc regardless the results on the Nationals event and only based on the overall season because more than one skater have had a bad skate at their National event at least once, like Tim 2003 Nationals and he did a great performance that worlds.
Oh well going back to Jeff, I loved his free program, well hope next year he could make it to Moscow.

I completely agree. Nobody throw anything, but I actually prefer him to Sandhu. Both are wonderful, but Buttle has such a smooth and lovely quality to his skating that pulls me in. I enjoy his performances even with mistakes, and that says so much about what he does on the ice. I would love to see him have an incredible season next year and follow that up with an Olympic appearance.

Same here!! I know Sandhu can land the quads, but he makes me nervous. Jeff is so into his knees when he skates and his program - he just flows from one element to the next - a real "skaters skater." I look forward to seeing him next year - healthy again!!!

PS - I wish they could invite him to skate at the Gala after the competition - he is such a treat to watch.

ITA - jeff is a much better packaged skater then eman is. i'd rather watch jeffy b any day over eman although i do enjoy eman's skating when it is at it's best.

ITA, it's a shame he won't be at Worlds. His Take Five SP was so amazing at 4CC. I haven't seen a male singles skater with that much personality on the ice since Yagudin :)

I loved Jeff's free from last year too - the one to the Elgar celo concerto. I only saw him skate at Worlds though and that was a BAD skate but you could still tell that the program had excellent construction. I can't wait to see what is instore next season!

But I hope he can sort out his jumps - I think his entrances don't really help, although I was very glad to see a different approach to the quad at 4CC. Straight down the rink, rather than taking it so far round the corner.

I wish him all the very best for next season:)

Jeff Buttle is a talented skater. I think he should spend some time on the off ice fitness if he hasn't done a lot of them. He needs to build upon some muscles to make him look stronger.:)

I wish Silvio Smalun was going to worlds not to mention it'll be on his home ice

Jeff Buttle

I am so bummed out that Jeff (& Takeshi) will not be at Worlds. I hope that they will both have better seasons next year!

On one hand, I am still upset because I won't get to see that program of his again. On the other hand, this long break from 4cc to the next season is probably what he needs to do a consistent quad for the 2004-2005. I hope he takes advantage of the time.

I too am a big fan of Jeff's, and I wish so badly that he had qualified for Worlds.... I'll certainly be missing him there.

bleuchick, I agree about not seeing that program again - both of his programs, actually! I was thinking the same thing when I saw him skate them at 4Cs..... Well, I guess we can just look forward to seeing him again in the new season, and I'm sure his new programs will be fabulous. :)

I like Jeff's programs this season a lot more than last season's however there was one thing that really bothered me about his long program. There's this one moment where he's just awkwardly standing there and looking up with this weird look on his face. Not to sound picky but that's what I remember most about the program!

I had the chance to finally watch Jeff's FS at NHK Trophy - it wasn't perfect, but I loved the ease and the flow he had throughout the program. Love the spreadeagles, spirals and spins among several other things in Jeff's skating. It seemed that he was gaining momentum and then he had the health problems. I was really bummed that he didn't make the world team this year. :(

Hopefully things will be better next year. :)

I'm also very, very, very, very disappointed that Buttle will not be at Dortmund, but Ferreira has a fine program, and he won his spot fair and square.

Same with Smalun. And, for that matter, Vlascenko, who had a wonderful LP choreographed by Bobrin this year.

Off topic for a sec: I'm thrilled to read that Slutskaya's LP will also be by Bobrin.

Hockeyfan228 (or anyone who knows),

I hate to continue the off topic discussion, but what exactly is Irina skating to for her SP and LP? Thanks for any info!

I saw Jeff Buttle skate for the first time here in Detroit last year. I was really impressed with his skating. He was a lot of fun to watch.
