Watching JGP Budapest yesterday reminded me that I hadn't actually watched JGP Linz, so here are Jia's SP and FP from Linz.

i'm not entirely sure if the GPF was the first time i've seen her skate but i was BLOWN away!!! she is the whole package. it's going to be so fun to watch her compete with Mao over the next few seasons, i'm hoping for a good friendly rivalry.

Congratulations to Jia Shin on winning Korean Nationals for the second year in a row with a wonderful performance in the freeksate. I actually haven't been able to find a video of her SP yet. She skated fast, smooth and gracefully with beautiful positions and expression and fine rotation and flow through her jumps with erect posture and some lovely transitions. The triple lutz triple toe close to the boards was was beautiful with picturesque air position and the transition from the sit spin into the cross grab Biellmann and the final pose was fluid and beautiful too. Its the best performance I have ever seen her give. I wish Jia the best at Junior Worlds. She skated so well I didn't even realize she was a Junior.
I found these excellent 4k videos of Jia Shin's wonderful SP and LP

Jia Shin's freeskate at Junior Worlds was so engaging emotionally with her great skating skills, fluid speed and massive rink coverage right up to the edge of the boards that really brings the audience into her performances. She also has quick, multi-directional turns, lovely and challenging transitions and picturesque air positions through her lofty jumps with highly artistic extensions and expression super attuned to the mood of the music.

I found this impressive video of Jia Shin's triple lutz / triple toe combo in the Worlds freeskate and was amazed at the remarkable distance she covers on the ice combined with the excellent flow and height with minimal pre-rotation. She also has beautiful air position and speed and such a gracefully soft landing with an agile change of direction turn on exit fairly close to the boards. Many commenters under this video were really impressed as well. For me, the best power in skating is disguised by grace and smoothness in execution as in this case. Can't wait to see Jia Shina skate great again this season.

Here are outstanding 4k quality videos of Jia Shin's lovely SP and LP performances after winning the JGP Qualifying event for the 2024 season. Great to see Jia skate again with such wonderful flow, engaging and graceful expression moving in unison to the music with fine loft and picturesque position in her jumps that have an old school fluidity and smoothness that linger in the air to savor the rotation instead of forcing the revolutions too quickly. In terms of costumes, I am particularly fond of how her black outfit blends with her natural hair color with the red shiny design in the back and on the sides that matches the flowery red and glittery hair braid or beret., I also think it is an intriguing and striking contrast to her softer white outfit for the long.

I hope Jia Shin, who I am a big fan of and who has given some of my favorite performances, skates great in her next competition and can become accustomed to Brian Orser who appears to be attempting to change her jump technique which I think was excellent before and doesn't need correction. Jia even skated really well at the Junior Grand Prix qualification in South Korea just a little over a month ago. I know some are interested in investing in long learning curves for future payoffs but with such a limited number of competitions each season, I hope that If Jia has similar difficulties in the next competition, she will consider returning to her coach in South Korea so she can get prepared for Nationals and get back to normal before the mistakes become engrained and her confidence and PCS begin to suffer. I also heard that Jia Shin has taken choreography lessons with Yuna Kim who was her idol so maybe being isolated from this inspirational environment and the praise she gets in South Korea has also played a role. I just was really heartbroken to see Jia face such suddenly unexpected difficulties and dearly hope she can get back on track. https://fs-gossips.com/11506/
