ITAPoor Mao. We know she can do better (even her exhibition was off). It must be the change from cute little tyke to a pretty young woman. She'll do better in NHK.

Sara is the lioness in waiting for the right moment to strike.
Kimmie just doesn't do it for me. I have seen some improvement from last season, but nothing to write home about. She landed the jumps, but she made me feel nothing with her performance. Without the 3A, I don't find anything about her skating exceptional.
She and Fumie need a triple/triple

...
I also noticed the disconnect between Arutunian and his skaters. But the truth is, I noticed it when he coached Michelle. There is no emotional connection. When he coached Michelle, it made me long for the days of Frank Carroll jumping up and down with joy when Michelle got her 6.0's.
And the new men coming up are terrific. NNN/Lefty are a team in progress. M/Z, N/B are both dance teams in progress. But then, if it's only Ladies one is interested in, so be it.
I don't think American skaters are so horrible.

Does anyone recall how Arutunian behaved in the K & C when he coached Sasha Abt? It might just be that Rafael is not one who displays his emotions.
IMO, USA is the leading country in Figure Skating, because it is strong in all 4 disciplines. Now the USA team is stronger than the Russian one. Japan is rising, but it is weak in Dance and Pairs. China is strong just in Pairs.
I've really gotten into Juniors this year. I didn't see the US as being particularly all powerful but they are. There are some I saw at seniors last year. In addition to looking at medal winners, I also take in the 'new' ones and decide their fate as future potentials.
Steenberg if he stands up will be a force; Carriere has the jumps. Varner will not impress many. I don't know others who may be skating Seniors, except the eagerly awaited RACHEL FLATT. I've never seen her skate except on Youtube. She's good but will it translate to a bronze medal at US Nats?

Is Musademba skating seniors this year? There is a lot of talent there and I wouldn't want her to rush it. What does one do after Novice?
