Ladies - Short Program

Previously a Korean named Chihee RHEE was listed.
I can imagine what happened after that outrageous score for that skater.

I just looked at the judges listed and there are other new names as well. Chihee RHEE is not the only judge that judged the short that is missing from the long.

Miki does not have that 'IT' factor. Only Mao and Yu-Na have that 'IT' factor among all contenders.

what does that have to do with thinking there was some kind of korean judging conspiracy to boost yuna's scores??

--- whoops, sorry. thought you were saying yuna didn't have the it factor to deserve her scores. misread, i apologize!

Not to change the subject but does anyone know if the Ladies' SP has been posted on Youtube yet? Thanks.

I just don't like "that skater". She's like a sister Buttle (who I loathe)

The final group is a cliff hanger.

Kostner has 3-3-2 combo and great spirarls.
If she skates well, the judges will be reluctant to give "that skater" generous PCS.

"That skater" is in rather uneasy position now.
There are 3 skaters with high PB of FS, so if "she" skates like Joubert, she may lose it. "She" has to take some risks. Her FP is not very strong in technical contents.

For Mao, this is definitely the first time to have 10 points deficit in SP.
She said "just going to aim 200 and win."
If she skate clean with 7 triples, that's a fair chance.

Ando needs just a FS at Skate America to win.
She's now the "Japan's No.1 hope", and the judges may reward if she skates well. The home advantages will kill "that skater".
She may still try 4S, and I bet she can at least rotate and avoid falling.

there are 2 links somewhere upstream on this thread. i should warn you though, that you should watch the german commentary one from eurosport instead of the korean sbs one. the korean lady commentators are talking so much, and are so excited it's kinda hard to focus fully on some of the programs, especially yuna's. lol.

I just watched the skates on CBC. While I was very impressed with Yu-Na, I thought Miki Ando was undermarked. She just WOWED me and her combination was more difficult than Yu-Na's. I felt she should have scored over 70 as well, or at least be in first.

P.S. These girls are all so cute!

Yu-Na's 3+3 and 2A must have gotten lots of +2,+3. Her 3+3 can put lots of male skaters to shame.

Don't you think you can have the decency to say Yu-na's name?... And its ridiculous to say the Korean's cheated.. No offense but the Korean federation really isn't that powerful...

And it wasn't just the Korean judge that was giving Yu-na High scores, all the judges gave her high scores. And newspaper reports all over are gushing over Yu-na as well. Reports are that the Russian commentators were speechless after watching Yu-na.. And well Russia doesn't have a dog in that fight, so they are fairly neutral.

As for generous PCS, what about Mao's? Many would say that Yu-na who is tres elegant deserves her PCS to be at least at the same level as Mao's.
OH, and I loved Yu-na's 3/3 she ended that triple with just the lightest touch it was graceful and light as a feather. Phenomenal.

As for home court advantage, it hasn't killed Yu-na yet. The judges clearly feel she's in a class by herself.

As for Yu-na being a female Buttle: that's ridiculous. Yu-na's is one of the top technical skaters out there, whereas Buttle isn't. Buttle also makes more mistakes than Yu-na.

Someone on another thread stated that Mira Leung had been making excuses for her placement and blaming the judges and her coach (?! ?!) Could someone provide a link to these comments for me? If true, this is unbelievable and unacceptable.

I agree with you.
Skating order may have affected Ando's score.
She was before Mao and the judges expected Mao to skate well. So they held down "Japan's No.2" to give some rooms for Meissner and Kostner. If Ando was after Mao, her score would be higher, possibly 70 points or more.

Miki Ando isn't at the same level as Yu Na Kim or Mao. She has to work harder to move accross the ice and her posture is inferior...I will say that she has improved. Kostner is most impressive to me. Her speed is amazing...only complaint about her is that I wish her dresses would fit her better!!!!!!

indicatoto101 thank for the link. I thought the four programs were great. I still think Miki Ando can win this. I predicted she would and I think she will.

I think Miki's posture has gotten worse. Watching her 2004 Worlds program, her posture then was much better than it is now. The command, execution and confidence was better too, IMO. Who was coaching her in 04?

Lol, I agree about the dress! It was lovely, but it sure didn't cover her "bottom" very well...

Wow, those were great performances for Yu-na, Carolina(?) and Mao (even witht the popped 3l). Kimmie did a good job too. Yu-na just rocked, as great as I imagined. But I'm really impressed by the Italian girl and Mao. They improved a lot in presentation department. Kimmie was as solid as steel, so was the presentation.

What a pity for Joannie. I hate this short program from the very beginning. It doesn't suit her at all. If she skates something like her exhibition program I would think she might have better result. I wish she ditches it next year.
