Ladies - Short Program

Sadly true, but Emily looked so darn cute on the ice-beautiful smile and her hair was fixed so nicely-best smile in figure skating ::::::! Em just needs to work on her flow on the ice-the tricks are there.

I love the British broadcasters on Eurosport-first day I've been able to tune in the feed-wish I could watch all figure skating on Eng. Eurosport. No commercials, no Dick-hip hip hooray for Eurosport (and Rosaleen!)

I love it as well. I am watching it via Internet. It's so smooth. Great!

Well the ice is slippery and the battle begins. Go Yu-Na and Kimmie!!!!.

Which program do you use? I have Tvu but it's not on any of the chanels they offer....
Thanks

Use TVAnts. There's a thread on how to install TVAnts under 'Four Continents'.
Then you search 'Eurosport'. Click on Eurosport(British) or English sth.
But it's all over, you can still watch it tomorrow for the free skate though. The feed is so smooth over the internet, can't believe it.

What happened to Joannie Rochette, ouch, 16th, 49 points. My goodness. Did she bomb? She's now formally in league with Mira Leung.

I think the judges got it right, Kim was best in the short programme. Absolutely fabulous skating from her!!! She and Asada are effortlessly floating on the ice, WOW. It will be exciting freeskate, especially as I believe that some of the top ten might not succeed as well as in sp. Many skaters are very close, so lots can happen tomorrow. I was very glad for Hughes, because I like her skating and person on the ice. Besides, she does not give up, and that is something I appreciate very much.

Princess:

TVU is wonderful for cctv (because they include the schedule) but I have to use TVAnts for eurosport. Download and install TVAnts and in the search bar search for Eurosport-there are about four and you have to just keep trying sometimes. p2p tv depends upon the number of open ports and people tuning in so it is "iffy".

I am in the US which might explain why sometimes it is hard to get. (I think also sometimes it is outright blocked-not sure how though.)

19 Carolina KOSTNER ITA 3 67.15
20 Emily HUGHES USA 6 60.88
21 Yu-Na KIM KOR 1 71.95
22 Mao ASADA JPN 5 61.32
23 Kimmie MEISSNER USA 4 64.67
24 Miki ANDO JPN 2 67.98

Katymay, I've gotten that same vibe about Eurosport somehow being blocked. I always test things out before a competition starts, and it will work just fine. But every time it's figure skating, somehow it doesn't work. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I too think somehow it gets blocked. I've actually been following the action through www.russiontvonline. Well worth the $9 this week!

Mean time - wanted to pop in and thank you Rosaleen for your continued reports. They are just awesome!!

SO EXCITING! The ladies field is so deep, and I can see it being this competitive at Worlds for the next few years before and including Vancouver. They're all so talented, but clearly no one is unbeatable or dominant, as we see with Asada in 5th and 10 points behind the lead!

I want this to be the podium: 1. Kim, 2. Kostner, 3. Ando - and it looks like there is a definite chance for that outcome! Go girls. :)

Can we all recognize how CONSISTENT Kostner is with the 3F-3T combination in Worlds SP? She has now done it successfully in that stage of Worlds in '03, '04, '05, and '07 - don't think she did it at all last year when she was really struggling with her form and confidence.

I'm also happy that Meissner was held back a little bit. It's a PB score for her, but I agree that a clean SP from her should not score nearly as high as clean Kim or Kostner, who I think are still more mature than she and much more naturally artistic skaters.

Also, what disasters for Rochette and Czisny!! Knowing Alissa's consistency and the upcoming American women, this could be her last Worlds. It's sad to see her do so poorly. At least Joannie can come back - she has really been off all season since Skate Canada. She even stunk at Nationals.

OMG - this is incredibly exciting.

The top 5 are exactly what I would have predicted, but in a MUCH different order! Any of them can win this Championship now!

Rosaleen - Thanks so much for the excellent reports. I am sorry you lost some of your work earlier.

Wow - what a competition. I do feel badly about Mao - I guess the nerves must have gotten to her; and it's too bad because that would have made the comp even that much more of a nail biter. Still is though. I am so hapy that Caro skated well - hope she can keep it up. And congrats to all those personal bests!!! Last - yeah, looks like the Men better watch out!

Yu na is amazing.. That program will go down as perhaps the greatest program ever at worlds. I mean the girl had it all a beautiful triple/triple combo.. Gorgeous jumps, spins..footwork.

Honestly, Yu-na is really what skating is suppose to be about. I know she doesn't have a quad/triple axel. But we she has is good basic technical skills/and well lovely skating.. Yu-na would make such a wonderful world champion...I can't wait to see what Dick says about Yu-na tonight. I don't think we've ever heard him comment abut Yu-na.

This is exciting. I am so glad that Yu-na is in first. Poor Mao! I think the pressure got to her ala Midori Ito in 92. Caro finally has reached her potential.

Alissa was bad in the short all season. There is no way you show up at worlds and just do it. I hope she can come out for her long and land some of her jumps. I honestly don't see her making another world team unless its by default. As much as I love her skating there are just too me girls coming up who can hit the jumps. :disapp:

As far as Joannie goes, its disappointing but she does have some jumps she can do under pressure in her LP. So, I'm expecting her to move up some, but I know she wanted to be in the top group.

In fact, she was CLEAN in all those programs you mentioned. In 2003, at her first worlds, she even did 3lutz-3toe!
