Liz Manley to wed hockey player later this year

This is my day for article linking, it seems. I am happy for Liz. I read both of her autobiographies and she has had a rocky road (with flashes of bright light like that great FS in 1988! My mom and I were jumping up and down.). I hope this works out for her. They have been dating for 7 years, so it isn't hasty:

Congratulations to Liz and her intended! Many years of happiness! Many of us remember her tremendous long program at Calgary, where she won the freeskate and won the silver medal. I remember the screaming, cheering crowd, the white cowboy hat that was tossed onto the rink, Liz picking up the hat and returning to her coach, and her coach holding her up in the air while she punched the air with her fists. What a great, great, Olympic moment. It is moments like Liz' wonderful silver medal win that make us all love the sport of figure skating so much.
