I think MAO did blow Irina away. Irina's presentation marks seem inflated in my book. She still lacks the ability to connect moves in a fluent fashion. Mao had great difficulty and beautiful artistry. It is a crime that one of the best in the sport is not allowed to compete.

I don't think she is too young though - but if she was too young to be in the Olympics, then she should still be in the juniors. How can they let a skater be in the seniors but not let them compete in all the competitions?

What is the difference between her competing in the GPrix series and Japanese Nationals and Olympics? Either let them skate in everything or make them stay in the Juniors.

Anyway, that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it, whether you find it overly dramatic or not I really don't give a hoot!

Her performance wowed me. I just hope her developing body doesn't get hurt by all the training and pounding of practice, like Naomi Nari Nam's.

A little bit OT, but another rule that I would like to see reviewed is the qualifying procedure for countries that do not score well enough at Worlds to gain an Olympic berth. I think that every member of the ISU should be able to send its champion to the Olympic Games, even if that skater does not have a realistic chance to finish in the top half.
