He probably didn't realise it because as combos he had only do one, he probably didn't remember about his quads and axels.

Also I think that when skaters are doing their program, they're caught up in the moment and it's difficult to think throughout, most rely on muscle memory... I'd suggest just skating the program like always, without changing the jumps dring the program...
