Men's Short Program.. Tuesday 16th, 7:15PM EST

The depth in the men is just phenomenal. I love how you can't predict the winner...or any of the medal winners. Whoever wins can definitely be very proud...talk about beating the best of the best.

how will the american men and joubert do against these....? gasp

Well, Evan will be overscored, Jeremy may not do well (I love him, but it's his first Olympics and the pressure of coming as national might make him nervous), Brian and Johnny will go clean.

:P

Yeah! Went to bed at 12 a.m., got up in time for Lambiel. I just need my sleep, I can't have it as disastrous as last year Worlds, where I basically stopped sleeping...

Wow. The competition has already been so amazing (our Belgian commentators are constantly saying how high he level is); and two more star packed WUGs to go!! Can you believe it? I can :) It's so easy to stay awake for this even though it's 4.14 in the morning.

Not surprised at Oda's score. That's about where I see him based on Taka and Lambiel's overall skate. Oda's long is his best asset along with those knees.

This is alrady the best Olympic Men SP I can remember,, ( im not that old only been following since Nagano) The top 2 were magnificent. II dont quiete like either program from Evgeny or Daisuke but woww they performed flawless and totally sold it, deserved standing ovation for Dai.

A few steps down but still impressive there wree two Very strong skates from Nobu and Lambiel, too bad the 3a will keep Stephane out of the fight. Honorable mention to Denis Ten which I believe was a bit wuzrobbed, he should be getting close to 80 in the SP by now and I hope he doesnt melt in the LP like hes been doing all season long.

Oh, man, Lambiel's footwork made me cry. These days the footwork requirements are so tricky that many skaters just ignore their music and do whatever gets points while the music goes in an entirely different direction. Lambiel's footwork, on the other hand, hit every beat of the music. Best footwork of the night! Between him and Takahashi, this is an utterly thrilling night. Dare I hope that the long program is equally impressive...?

Okay how many points Chosen One will be gifted? This better not be another D-squared situation.

I'll be leaving after Contesti's performance (driving to work) and be back for the final flight.

Once again, NBC SUCKS, they cut the rest of the group after Nobu and showed the snowboard cross and TOO MANY commercials !!!

Any eyes on Brian Joubert?

I think I'm going that way this time. Again. Not tired at all. Some more cookies and I'll be fine! Just practice before the real insomnia test on Thursday.

My biggest fear of the night is precisely that. If he goes clean I think he may very well be number one after the night is over, regardless what the others do.
