Sadly yes ... it would be so much better to have placements determined by relative excellence than by who does the least wrong ... having everyone skate their skate and then seeing how it matches up instead of seeing so many strong skaters just lose it, whether a lot or a little ...

I'm a little surprised by Kazuko's scores, would have him (by eyeball scoring) a bit higher; not sure about the Chan Weir placements - but overall, this is a great comp so far. I was really pleased to see Weir's triple axle back, nice!

Very proud of Kevin! Yes he's agonizingly slow; but his jumps were powerful and I really don't know what people hate about his costume; it's themed. I don't see how this is more absurd than say Contesti's or even Lambiel. I think it's cool .
