Congratulations for the victory! According to the protocols he landed the 4S successfully in both programs!
I wish I could watch his performance somewhere. I didn't find anything on YouTube.
You can search Michal Brezina on ok.ru site. Someone uploaded both SP and FS already :love2: I love him so much! Who could have thought he'll be still winning anythin at this age? He doubles some of his triples though. I won't complain too much, since there were no splats and it's a huge succes for Prince Charming!

Short interview before Europeans:

Nothing really worth of translating, just that it will be Michal's 4th olympics and that when Nathan asked him about how many olympics he participated already, he was partially shocked about the answer. Michal also answers questions about the risk of infections and whether he fears of it. He is not directly afraid, but does some precautions, after the Euroepans he will also remain in the Czech Republic before the olmpics, because otherwise it would be very hard to get to China (no direct flights between the US and China, US teams will fly via charter and they won't take anyone else on board).

I didn't have high hopes after the short, so Michal really was a nice surprise today in the FP. Fingers crossed for our favourite uncle to reproduce this at the Olympics!

Yeah, I wonder if he will be able to. I mean, he's staying in Czech Republic, so no Raf for him and the training rythm might be different.

Michal will be co-flagbearer for the Czech Republic :hap10: . I don't know how it works in other teams, but here a flagbearer is decided by voting of all Czech athletes at the Olympics.

Also, there was a longer interview with Michal in Beijing. He says some interesting things about his boots. They are not from leather but from carbon. They are fitted, are lighter, they are on one hand stiffer to stabilize the ankle but on the other hand don't need any time to break in. (hope i said it right, I don't skate so i don't know these things) and that he's probably the only one at the olympics with them. At Europeans coaches and choreographers asked him about them a lot.

Also, this tweet ;)

That is super interesting! So in other words he is a trendsetter ;) And happy he was voted for a flagbearer <3

Anyway I am always happy to see his skating style and thank him for his long life on the ice.
ETA: I thinks, that all mistakes are washed away. I had already forgotten by now (four days later). But I will remember for sure his participated in four Olympics. :)

I think the team event meant a lot for Michal, skating with Eliška for the first time at the Olympics, with their father being there in the k&c with her, so I'm not that sad for the individual event, though of course it's disappointing that he was the first below the cut.
