I'm not crying, but I'm super sad. Hopefully he'll be able to heal, but he fought through that program. The good takeaway is that people won't be mad at him for blocking Javi's last title, but I hoped it wouldn't be like this.

He wanted it so badly, and he could have done it. I knew things weren't going to end well after that 4S, and then he got off the music........but is his wrist okay? Is it broken? :sad21: I stopped watching after that point.

According to Tat is broken, but it's hard to know at the moment, I'd say.

Poor Misha :( He deserves better luck.

I'm so sorry about his wrist, that looked painful! I hope he gets better quickly.

Tat commented about all the guys having to do the Russian Cup Final, I don't know how that information holds up. I just wish he could skate this program decently at least once, because it's a program that means to him. It wasn't this time, but what can we do.

I kind of hope this is the end of the season for him tbh, BUT I want him to skate this clean. It's utterly devastating no matter how you look at it. We'll always have that RusNats performance, at least. He was satisfied with that, and the support was overwhelming.

Beyond his wrist, I worry how he's going to come back from this emotionally. Or if he even can. It was all there for him, he didn't even need to skate his SB from Nepela (which wasn't clean) to win. I know he came back from PyeongChang (though never fully imo), but how does one come back from an entire season of this? It isn't fair that somebody so kind has to be in this state of physical pain and psychological disappointment for months on end.

Ah well. I thought his muscle memory (and pressure being the lead) would bite him. I think he's probably the best overall technician in the world. Shame he can't get it together.

Rest up, dude. And don't beat yourself up.

With his luck on (w)axels, the only thing we need to worry about there is a broken spirit :sad21:

Ah, I'm crying again.

Ah, man, I know it's hard, but I'm already pretty jaded when it comes to his meltdowns and falls. I wish things had been different, but it is what it is. I still feel like his SP was good and he has to see that as a step up. It's still too soon after the way he was at Nats, and there's a new layout and combos. He has to work on those things, but he had such a good practice this morning, I hope he can build on that.

I don't think this was an issue of muscle memory, I think he was just nervous out of his mind having to hold on to the lead. I think he injured the wrist on the 3A, and then the loop just aggravated it more. I stopped watching after that, so can't comment on how his other jumps looked.

Sure, he's a headcase.....what of it? There's nothing he can do about who he is, and surrounding him with negativity only makes it worse. I don't know why people can't understand that.

Agreed. I really don't think about the bad stuff anymore, I'm already thinking about the future and what we have to do to keep moving. He's the skater he is, and perhaps in a couple of seasons he might come to terms with himself, he might get used to the spotlight. I don't know. We'll never know for sure until it happens.

But he's been doing so good with his salchow in practice. Perhaps it'll become as good as his toeloop. We can only hope.
