Mika was supposed to skate at Tallinn Trophy but it seems that he withdrew. I pray it is not injury this season is just getting more depressing by the day...
Are you sure? He's still in he entry list. (I mean, he was two days ago, and I they haven't published the official schedule for the men. And I saw in the vk community that they said he's not there, so I guess we'll wait)
Edit: correcting myself, he's not in the training list, so probably withdrew.

It's possible he just realized participating at Tallinn is too close to GPF, which he might not have originally thought he'd attend.

I hope you are right though it is a bit odd, if it was a tactical decision he would have given notice before hand and someone else could have replaced him. This situation looks more like a last minute decision but why - illness, injury? I hope we hear something soon!!!

Finally some news - thanks to his active VK group!
Misha is on the way to GPF and in a small interview taken just before his trip to Nagoya he said that the reasons for missing Tallinn Trophy were health related, but all is okay now - thank God!
There will be no changes in programs layout, he is still training 4lz3T combination but as of now not going to put it in competition.

hope, his health issues wasn't that serious. It's so much injuries in this sport this year, I wish for Mika at least to escape it somehow. Happy for him that he finnaly earned his first trip to Grand Prix Final. If I'm not mistaken, he is the only one senior participent, who never had been before in GPF neither senior or junior. Misha said "I think it was the right decision to let Russia participate in the Olympic games. To be honest, I cannot imagine the Olympics without the Russian team." The interpreter seems to have invented an entirely different answer. There has already been a backlash about his short interview on the subject in Russian, now this. Maybe Misha should just reply "no comment" to all questions about the Olympics.

I feel like Misha should be less accomodating. Next time just say no comment, you're not there to win the hearts of the press, especially if they don't have much care with what you say.

Now all we need is for someone to translate this translation back into Russian, and Misha will be buried under a torrent of vitriol. Sigh. He really doesn't need and interpreter's help to put his foot in his mouth, but in this particular instance his answer was totally aboveboard.

Good thing he seems like he doesn'treally follow what happens in the press circle. Also, I don't really know what the russians will make of his answer? Most likely someone will ask him about it either way, and then he'll have to end up answering it again. I don't know what the translater was thinking about, tho.

But it isn't an injury.
He also says he is reasonably satisfied with his SP (Valentina says the same). His 4Lz has been getting more consistent, but still needs more practicing.

I think that almost stumble, perhaps, played a part in it. But I'm happy about most of his other scores and I agree with them. I think the flying sit spin was slower today compared to what he can do and he was very focused on the elements of his program, so I accept that the judges didn't want to give him the edge in IN and PE. But the SS score above Nathan, even if he skated before, is good.
