I wasn't impressed with Leung's jump technique in the one competition I saw with her on CBC. (I believe it was Canadian Nationals, but it might have been Jr. Worlds.) She didn't have smooth entries or exits. She struck me as a precocious skater, but more of a young girl trying on her mother's high heels. I was more impressed with the handful of other skaters -- not even including Pfaneuf or Rochette -- that were televised.

Nothing personal- just an observation. Not everybody can spend thousands of dollars on skating dresses-not that there is anything wrong with that--but probably that's not her main priority. Like someone said in a previous post that she gets her dresses from a skating catalogue. Personally, I didn't think that it was a potato sack, but that's my opinion.

Last time I had a dress altered, it cost me about $50. That would be about $60 Canadian. I assume it is a tiny fraction of the total dress cost, even from a catalogue, especially if you think of the total training cost.

Face it - a lovely costume, let me say a "lovely fitting" costume is a part of an overall package. It may not be a main priority, but people do look at things like that. It's a small detail that could be adressed at a very low cost. When the dress hangs off of you like it came from a Goodwill store, doesn't it indicate a juniorish skater? To me it does.

BTW, you can spend thousands and the dress still doesn't look right. Just ask Michelle about her gold dress that she wore early in the season. The navy that replaced it was absolutely stunning, though.

Thanks for the clip. The clip I watched is the exhibition from Canada National.

The funny thing is while she got propped for her jump. Non of her jumps in that program was landed cleanly. And there was one jump with no clean entry edge. While she got critisizing of her spin skill, I'd say she has better sit spin position than most top ladies that I've seen, and her transitions into the Bielman spin from the donut position is very smoothly done better than any top ladies (or was there any top lady does this type transition? I think not?).

She does lack in stroking and speed, but given time she'll smooth out. Overall I felt her skating is much fluid than Cynthia, who is way to stiff on ice.

Teresa Dawn, thank you for posting the SP clip. I finally understand what the fuss was about. I had only seen her LP, and I was hoping to love her, given that she's a Vancouver girl, and Vancouver is my favorite English-speaking city on Earth )), but I was disappointed in it. She's not a finished skater, but she showed a lot of patience in her spiral sequence -- which means she can apply it to her stroking and other elements -- she had nice form and speed in her donuts, and the donut into Biellmann, in form, transition, and speed, was as good as any non-Swiss skater I've ever seen do it.

^not a finished skater indeed, but young yet. I have yet to see her new seasons programs, but I hope that she spent time on her "polish" over the summer, because that is where she lacks the most.
