Mirai Nagasu's future prospects

Well I hope it's just until "the dress" is finished. I don't think anyone looks good in those unitards!

It's way early in the season, not to mention she made a major relocation. She probably either had to 1. Find a new designer or 2. Go back to California to have them made. Costumes take time and money. I'm sure she will have them soon.

Yep, I agree. It just sounded Icey was refering to her SOI costume.
 
For what it's worth, the LP dress she wore looked like her On Golden Pond exhibition dress to me, so my guess is none of her costumes are finalized. Which is totally fine!

Though of course I can't wait to see everyone's new costumes :popcorn:

I thought they were taking about a performance at Lake Placid where she wore unitards. In any case, I was referring to the unitards she wore in Florida when skating with SOI earlier this year.
 
I think Mirai's costumes may be an issue of money. She's always looked lovely, but her things look a lot less "pricey" than Gracie or Ashley's. Especially Ashley's S&D dresses that are probably worth more than my car. And that's just fine. I'm excited to see Mirai's hard work and renewed passion. The sparkly part can come later :)
 
My favorite costume or dress of Mirai's is the one she wore in 2011 4CCs for her "Memoirs of a Geisha" FS. I hope she gets something along those lines for "Madame Butterfly". I'm not sure for her SP dress - anything nice and flowy would work I suppose.
 
Mirai has been doing triple axles since she was with Frank. She just never did them in competition.

That's true. I think there's even a video of her training the jump when she was still with Charlene Wong, so clearly it's s jump she's trained for a long time, and I would argue that's always been evident with how high and flighty her double has always been. I do wonder though... Tom Z made a point of tweeting about it a while back between 4CC and SOI I think.

And now these reports. It could just be summer fun training, but I wonder if she isn't toying with putting it in the free. Ah well I guess we'll find out eventually. Still would be fun to see a video!
