Mirai Nagasu's future prospects

I think Mirai needs to just stick with rotating her existing triple jumps and forget about the 3a.

""Mirai's plan is to practice the Axel in Salt Lake City but not do it in competition," Zakrajsek said. "It's getting closer. She has rotated it fully and fallen, or she has stood up on it when it's under-rotated.""

Nagasu hopes to add a triple Salchow, a jump she hasn't landed in competition since 2009, to her free skate and may show it in Salt Lake City.

"Triple Sal is definitely not my favorite jump, so to put it back in my program is definitely a step up and definitely stresses me out," she said. "But I think that continuing to work and increasing the difficulty of my programs is really good for me."

"The triple Sal has been really good; she hit nine out of 10 the other day," Zakrajsek said. "It depends on her other jumping passes -- her triple flip-triple toe and double Axel-triple toe -- and whether we take out the (second) triple loop."

yassssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. im liking the 3F-3T, 3S talk

She basically needs to do this to stay competitive with the other girls:

3F+3T
2A+3T
3Lz
3Lo+2T+2Lo
3S
3Lo
2A

Good luck to her.

Mirai Nagasu SP(I can't get this link to work anymore but I'm on my iPhone)

edit: Sorry for being so unclear.

The SP* is over (not the entire competition). Mirai didn't achieve a particularly good score due to a poor combo (singled the second part so it was invalid and all -3 GOEs) and losing important levels on spins/step sequence. Her elements aside from the combo looked pretty good though -- her loop and axel got really excellent GOE.

I like this so much, I find it's funny that Tom answered the question instead of Mirai for the FS «A Triple Flip/Triple Toe!»

Tom is great coach for Mirai :)
Mirai doesn't seem to believe in herself. But, Tom believe in her and It seems to help her to rebuilt a confidence that she has lost over the last 4 years!

Mirai skated the SP in SLC with the same blank expression with which she's skated every program since 2010. I've pretty much given up any expectation of seeing a revival of the old Mirai. If she doesn't believe it's going to happen, it won't.

Apparently the triple salchow has been a nemesis. Funny, just like it was for Kristi Y.
