Yeah- I'm sure in that first 2-3 days she could have interviewed anywhere but it would have been horribly distracting. And I doubt she had her thoughts together.
I think the inevitable question is- what could you have done in regard to the winner having only 5 triples? The answer is nothing with a bum groin but that is SO the question everyone wants to ask. I think the whole questioning is a minefield in regards to endorsements, thoughts, injury, Hughes and possibly unkind Sasha comments form interviewers.
I trust her Kwan herself well.

I haven't read the NY Post since the day after Murdoch took over. I'm not all too sure if the item is true. Was any date given for the interview?

If a book is named to her Book Club, it immediately jumps on the bestseller's list. She took herself out of 'Springer' mode and most of her shows are based on social causes. I TiVo her show and then delete the ones that aren't of interest. Shows air about a week after they are taped.

Yep, she has been playing it season to season since 2002, and according to her agent this year will be no different. I don't care what kind of interview it is, as a Kwan fan it will be nice to see how she has been doing after withdrawing from the olympics. We have not seen Michelle much this season (other skating fans have been lucky to see their favorites) and I am look forward to this.
I think 2010 is out of the question for MK, as she'll be 29 then. However, it wouldn't shock me if she opted to stay on another season or so before retiring. She seems to be the type to actually love competition (well, that could even be up for debate as she "skipped" competing as much as possible before)...sort of like Irina does. Both of them seem very comfortable with the idea of skating, otherwise they wouldn't have stayed in that long. IMO, anyone else who claims to "love competing" is just either learning the process or flat out lying.

She started 'regulary' skip GP only since 2003/2004 season. That was when her injuries (cited from that Russian translation, I heard from MS the same) started to emerge(diagonized). Her body just couldn't take the intensive trainning that competetions required all season long. So she had to chose some (Nationals, worlds) and gave up others (GPs).Red Dog said:

With regards to Michelle and retirement and not skating, I don't think that she will retire. As long as she keeps skating, even if it's only one or two times a year, she will still be in the limelight and probably that's all she wants at this stage in her life.She is still to young to retire and still to old to keep up the the little jumping bean beilman girls. With skating only a few times a year, that's all her body can take and if it's working for her this way, I don't think that she will change it.

I haven't read anything about her skating with COI, but then one never knows what MK is about to do.
I don't think she will remain eligible. Emilie and Kimmie are now seasoned skaters and she will have to face them along with a smartened-up Sasha for any competitive medals within the US. The coming season (after Worlds) will also show how well, Alissa, Bebe and Katie are doing.
The above are just randomed thoughts on the mysterious one.

I've just gotten confirmation that Michelle is indeed going to appear on Oprah... The question now is when... probably within the next six weeks. I will post the date as soon as I get it...
