Mone Chiba

Her Silver Medal, Shun Sato's victory at the Cup of China, and their qualification for the Grand Prix Final have been acclaimed by NekoMasamune, the mascot of the Sendai Tourism Board:

In fact, NekoMasamune had already posted about their first place in the Short Program:

I realise that this is not only Mone Chiba's first qualification to the Grand Prix FInal, it has also been her first "small Gold" medal in Grand Prix!
Also, I was really delighted by these two gifts she had in the Kiss & Cry after the Free Skating, the cushion printed with a photo of her at the NHK Trophy and the panda with a dress looking like her Free Skating dress! It's so cute!
Here's her Gala program at the Cup of China:

Mone Chiba has been positively robbed at the Short Program of the Grand Prix Final. They didn't give her 75, not even 70, and overscored another skater!
Here's her skate, which I don't find yet on Youtube:

More Mone SP pictures.

May she have a good free skate!

Apparently she has, and apparently she was robbed of the Gold Medal... I'm looking forward to watch the Free Skating, but knowing that she very probably didn't get her desert (the scoring inaccuracy in the Short Program alone would have made up for the final result difference), I don't know if I will be able to appreciate it fully (probably more than the skate of the overscored skater, though; which is sad, because contrary to the Men's American overscored skater, the Women one skates really well).
Congratulations!

Congratulations to Mone Chiba on giving such wonderful performances. I think Mone Chiba should have won the Grand Prix Final because to me she deserved a lot higher relative PCS score compared to what she received since she has such refined and exquisite artistry, buttery smooth and fast skating with little overt pumping and the most lovely fluidity and plasticity in movement, erect posture and engaging musical expression of the competitors at the competition in my opinion. For example, her picturesque transition out of her double axel I believe in the short with the long extension was fabulous,. Also Mone was only a total of 1.6 points lower in tech across both the SP and LP compared to the top tech score, so I think she clearly made up this difference and more in her PCS elements.

I don't find her Free Skating on Youtube, but here it is on Bilibili, with a fitting post number, being the ranks she deserved in this Grand Prix season, or at the Short and the Free and the global result at the Final:

Congratulations to Mone for ending up 4th in the JNats and being nominated to both Worlds and 4CC! We'll be rooting for you there, girl!
Yes, I know 4th place might have been a bit of disappointment but, oh, well... :)
Extremely competitive field of skaters.
I didn't watch, but I wouldn't be surprised if she was more nervous here than any of her GP events.

I wish Mone Chiba an excellent Last Dance tomorrow at Universiade, and that she remembers that her skates are for History and are recorded, rather than for the scores!

I was too late to watch Mone Chiba skate, and I didn't find a video yet, but she got 72 and she's in first place!
Congratulation!
I hope that her Free Skating will be as good and rewarding!

Alas Mone Chiba didn't have a very good Free Skating, she fell and had several quarter underrotations and unclear edges.
Nevertheless, congratulations for her Silver medal!
