Nebelhorn Trophy Info

Carolina Kostner
Ashley Wagner
Cathy Reed / Chris Reed
Katharina Gierok / Florian Just
Penny Coomes / Nicholas Buckland

are out...
The Reeds' participation here is still written on the JSF site as well as on their official blog.
I know they aren't on the event site entry list, but still ...

Valentina Marchei is also out..:disapp: and Alexandra Kunova from SVK is in..

Bazarova & Larionov are replacing Novik & Kuznetsov..

Anyone know why the Reeds w/d? or Kostner or Wagner?

According to the Reeds' blog, on Sept 9th Cathy hit her knee very hard twice while practicing and had to put ice bags all day. This kept her from practicing a few days.

If the withdraw was before 9th, then this is not the reason.
In that case just the delay of preparing their free dance.

ETA: Whichever the case, JSF now confirmed Reeds' withdrawal. Too bad.

Sorry to hear this. Hope she recovers quickly....

The JSF official site says just "entries of Murakami and Reeds are canceled."

Murakami is in the entry list of Chubu regionals scheduled one week after Nebelhorn. After withdrawral of Kostner of Wagner, they may have decided this event doesn't worth long trips (just my speculation).

Ooops I'm sorry 9th was the date of the blog entry Japanese standard time. Also, Kinoshita Group translates Reeds' English into Japanese.

So Cathy's injury should be on 8th.

Is anyone attending that can give us some updates, practice reports, pics, etc? I know there were unofficial practices today, as well as the draw :-)

Kanako is not injured. According to this news, her shoes were broken and she couldn't have enough preparation with the new shoes. She will compete in Japanese regional at Oct. 1th.

Sorry, in Japanese only.

Hmm...it's a bummer we won't get to see Kanako's senior debut here, but maybe then again it's better for her to start out at regionals on a national level. I wish her a quick breaking-in-of-the-boots.

Still, I'm excited!! The Short Dance is in hours ^^
I'm especially excited to see the Shibutanis senior debut!

Ice-dance.com put up some new photos of yesterday's dance practices here:

Ladies: Kiira Korpi
Men: Michal Brezina
Pairs: No idea, unfamiliar names (to me)
Dance: Pechalat/Bourzat

Anyone at today's practices? Pictures? Reports? Ahh! I'm going crazy here because I cannot find any single feed or webcast of the competition :-( SO sad!
