New Plushy Interview

I think Plushy made a valid point, which is that in a true partnership, both partners should have equal say in decisions. Whether this was or wasn't the case between Totminina & Maxim, we'll never know.
Plushy may have felt that especially since Maxim is a man, he should have some input into the decisions. We don't have to agree with Plushy's personal reasons, but I think most rational, fair people would say that ideally a partnership should consist of two partners, not a master and a slave.
All that and I'm not even a big fan of Plushy.
I enjoyed reading his interview, though. He sounds more mature and likeable than he has appeared to me in the past -- JMHO. I'm especially happy that he sounds like he wants to bring (back) more of an artistic element into his skating.

When both members of a partnership are required, one automatically has veto power -- tt isn't just input, though, it is also a question of weight. For example, Maxim might well have wanted to do Plushy's show, but if switching meant much more to TT than staying meant to MM, then they would probably switch -- simply because only one of the two wouldn't have done either show any good.

I would prefer not reading Plushy's interviews, only I him want to see to skate. Whenever I read his interviews I feel disappointed.
He is so modest and has so many class.
I hope that it returns in the full forms. Thus the competition will be more entertaining. And that wins the best one

I'm not asking her, I'm asking you... why so nasty? Are you aware that some posters on GS prefer to discuss skating vs. reading your "oh so relevant and always fair" assessments of people you don't know? Didn't think so.
I'm at the point where I cringe when I see your name because I know that if a skater isn't a fav of yours, they will get disrespected, called names and denigrated. And why? Because they won Worlds, want a pink Hummer and couldn't make a business deal work.... I understand its the off season, but c'mon!

Someone being a B**** is their own prerogative. It's not nasty to call the situation like it is and has nothing to do with my favorite skaters. I don't care about the whole lawsuit thing with Plushenko either.
If you want to discuss skating, then do so. If you disagree with something, I would suggest providing reasons. Such as "Even though Totminina says some evil things, she's not really a B*** because xxx whatever your reason xxx." Or, you could simply not respond to things which don't interest you. That's what I do.

She called Slutskaya a failure after not winning the Gold Medal at 2006 Olympics, for starters....

Did she make nasty remarks about the Zhangs once or twice? IIRC, she accused the male Zhang of deliberately crashing into her at Worlds '05 (Alexei Tikhnov said he saw the incident and it was totally accidental); was this in addition to, or instead of, the incident at Olys that you are referring to?

I didn't hear when she called Slutskaya a failure. I'm curious, where are these comments from. Why are they still a best friends then?

on how this tiny woman was able to control her coach and partner (even Plush was a victim), knocked out the male Zhang, who actually crashed into her at Worlds, and she terrorized skating world for years (it really looks like that ). I can understand Max and Vasiliev, who said she was a reason of their success.

GREAT interview! He seems very straightforward and to the point. I wish I could interview him sometime for Balletic Tzar... but then I haven't updated the site in months LOL.

After the pairs long programs, she was asked about DZhang's accident and she said something along the lines of the Zhangs being aggressive in the warm up and not letting them warm up properly and when one was that aggressive, accidents like that would happen. She came off very unsympathetic and as if she thought DZhang deserved what she got. If I remember correctly, she was asked several times about it, on NBC, Eurosport, and Olympic Ice, and she and her coach Oleg Vasilliev had pretty much the same response. On the other hand, Maxim Marinin seemed very sympathetic to the accident.

Actually, what she tried to say with her poor English was that Zhang's disaster was karma.
