Any skater who wants to control the amount of skating s/he does next fall and to decide later whether to continue to skate is wise to skip Calgary, because then s/he won't be assigned GP spots. Dambier is skipping Worlds, for example, and has said he only wants to skate Euros and Worlds next year. It makes sense for Arakawa, if she wants to skate in shows next fall and not incur Cinquanta's wrath.

Great observation., HF. As I said in another post, Shizuka showed her intelligence in preparing for and skating in these games. Obviously, she's one smart Shizza!
