50,000 enthusiastic spectators gathered in the streets of Tokyo for Team Japan Appreciation Parade yesterday. All Japanese Olympic and Paraolympic athletes from Milano -Cortina were present but RikuRyu were the unchallenged heroes of the day as Japanese OGMs in pair skating for the first time in history. RikuRyu performed some of their iconic lifts, great photos flooded the internet and the event was noted by international press all over the place. I think it is a great occasion to share some beautiful photos but also to acknowledge the way other OGMs have been both admired and celebrated, and exercising impact that Olympic gold should bear,.
Enjoy and contribute!!!

Edit: Fun fact is that the Parade was organized on the 12th anniversary of the first Yuzuru Hanyu Victory Parade in Sendai in 2014 celebrating his win in Sochi, as I was reminded below (even bigger crowd gathered then as the Sochi Parade had 92,000 participants)

What a fortunate choice of a date, just on a certain twelfth anniversary of another Victory Parade...
Here's a video, a robot one, I hope that we'll have better tomorrow:

I think it is like Mikhail winning the men, the country is excited because it's not only the medal but it's the first time ever in that discipline so they have become heroes. They both look so happy!

Now Japan just needs to get themselves an ID supercouple...

This is very true and I love the media calling it the "RikuRyu fever". But as for ID couple - could one be in the making? Hopefully so, and maybe more than one ... ;)

Oh, yes!!! I know now what you mean! The 12th anniversary of the first Yuzuru Hanyu Victory Parade in Sendai after his Sochi OGM. 92K people appeared then to celebrate the first Asian to win OGM in Men,. So is it to date? Wow, I do not think it was just a coincidence. as Yuzu parades are legendary in Japan with the second one in 2018 having broken the 100K participants barrier.
I will edit the OP accordingly
