Nguyen 72.73 (50.54) must have reviewed several jumps, scores took a long time to come up

Viviana Mathis ("Carmina Burana"), rust and gold dress

very dramatic and expressive
walley to 2A, turns-out
2Lz+2T out of footwork
3Lo great!
FSSp4
L4 spirals
the soft music doesn't suit her well
2A+2T huge
FCoSp4
2F+1Lo

stars to CCoSp4 slowed way down
Her jumps are gigantic (I'm surprised she doesn't have more triples because she easily has the height and power for them). Music, except the slow part, fit her skating very well.

Nice ina bauer to 3S+2T lost some flow
L4 spirals (same ones as short program)

She's definitely working on artistry but it's still not all the way there yet. Nice jumps -- she rotates really, really quickly -- with lots of flow on the way out.

3T+2T
LSp4
2Lz arms over head
3S+2T+2Lo hung on
Back spiral to 2A+2A very nice

Step sequence instead of spirals -- it's a nice step sequence, but a really odd choice since it's much easier to get a L4 on spirals
FCSp3
Very nice over all. Jumps weren't as secure as Kiri Baga's, but she held on well.

The Novice ladies this year were much stronger than last year. I was very impressed with their jumps and prescence on the ice.

Baga is the one to watch for the Gala. I believe she came in 1st and they only show the golden novice skaters.

Her LP was much better than her SP but still fiery. It was refreshing to get away from all those ballet-like skaters. Baga is good and we must continue to watch her as she moves into Juniors.

Also good skating at Nats was: Mary Beth Marley, and Loren Dinh. Angela Wang has great Technical. Katlynn McNab is very good.

All and all worth watching the Novice Ladies.

With all the fuss created about miss McNabb the last few years, she has yet to live up to it. She struggled with the 2 axel for years and did not attempt any triples this year. She will never get past novice if she does not learn her triples soon.
Funny how soon some people are willing to crown the next national champion when the girl is only 10 years old.
