Hey,
so I‘m currently planning on buying new blades and I’m unsure what exact blade fits my needs best.
I started figure skating in February this year where I bought Edea Overture with MK Flight. Over summer break, I updated my boots to Risport rf3 pro as I put an inline frame on my Overtures. I am now jumping every single jump except axel and doing spins like catchfoot camel and different types of backspins and also working on biellmann. It’s only my sit spins I am struggling with because I lack strength in my legs.
Lately I’ve noticed that, especially in my camels, my spins slow down very fast even if I’m on the spinning rocker. In my Flip and Lutz, im also experiencing problems, I often feel like slipping due to the small and straight cut toe pick.
So I was planning on updating to MK professional or JW coronation ace or the lite versions of those. Having read many reviews online, I’ve heard bad things about the lites so I’m really unsure if they really offer any advantages. I have to admit, even though this shouldn’t be a criteria, I really like how they look.
But aside from the question wether the lites are better or not, I was wondering if the Coronation Ace or Professional work better for me as I’ve heard that the MK‘s are slightly more curved what helps you with faster spins but it’s also more difficult to save spins and offers less stability regarding edge jumps.
I’m wondering what would work better for a beginner still developing skills (I know this is a bad question as every skater has different needs).
So I’d like to hear your opinions on those blades if you’ve used them.
And sorry if some sentences sound weird, I am not a native speaker
