It has come to my attention that the AI-generated portion of Mrazkova/Mrazek's RD, "One Two," has lyrics that are directly plagarized from "You Get What You Give" by the New Radicals. I learned about this via this blog post that was reposted to another site. As much as I dislike the tone used in the blog, there is a legitimate concern here; whichever AI was used for this song clearly copied the lyrics from the New Radicals' song and pasted them in different parts of its new song. You may compare the lyrics used in the first part of the Mrazeks' rhythm dance music (VPN may be required) with the New Radicals' lyrics yourself.
For the record, I really love Mrazkova/Mrazek and want to see them win medals-- but not like this. Not when an actual human hasn't been credited for plagiarized lyrics on an AI-generated song. AI tends to just regurgitate information without providing anything truly new or insightful, and they really should have done their due diligence to ensure that the song's lyrics were unique. This is also disappointing considering that they have gotten in trouble for copyright issues before-- I really hope they change the first part of their rhythm dance as soon as possible.
Now I know some of you on here know a thing or two about music and copyright law, so I would love to hear what you guys have to say about this. AI-generated lyrics that are too similar to what an artist created are something an artist can potentially sue over, correct?
