Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

Must be that British thing. ;)
Since I don't know how any of you guys look in real life, I have these pictures of you in my head. Ant is a in my head this reserved British dude around 30. Extremely well-dressed of course (duh! British!), mostly in blues and greys, with a conservative hair-cut and piercing blue / grey / green eyes. Very controlled and a bit aloof. Facial expressions mostly between an ironic smile and a sarcastic smirk. And speaks perfect Oxford English.

And I better stop talking now...

That's funny. Don't stop there, do tell us how you picture other posters, too! ;)

Ant, Will you marry me ?
Jude law, is that you?

Off topic, but have you noticed that Antman can sardonically disagree with everyone on every subject, and still he is everybody's favorite? Must be that British thing. ;)

Yes, I have noticed of that. Didn't know why. You must be right.

Hugh Grant?;)

:think:I imagine Ant finding out next morning that from aaaaaaaaaaaall the threads in golden skates he is been praised in the Plushenko topic:laugh:

Well what do you know...you come into work in the morning, sneak onto GS and find a topic has changed to ME!!!!!

I'm actually blushing believe it or not! As MM pointed out I was born in Argentina of Argentinian parents (paternal grandfather was English though!) and now live in the UK so i'm truly dual nationality!

I'd have thought some of my outbursts on GS show how reserved I'm not

Feel free to picture me as Jude Law or Hugh Grant  I think in reality you would be very disappointed though! I'm trying to think of any famous people i have been compared to but am drawing a blank for now...but i don't have blue or green eyes - they're brown, and as to the conservative haircut medusa - I have a very short buzz cut!

Medusa - you'd probably be right clothing wise while i'm posting on GS because I mostly post while i'm at work in suit (which are all very boring blues and greys!) but in my spare time i'm very casual in clothing!

Accent - I picked up a BBC broadcasting "queens english" accent when i first moved to the UK, but i've been living "ooop" (up) north for nearly 14 years so my accent has flattened out somewhat and i've lost all the long A's in words like glass, path , bath! (MM it's not anywhere near the accents in Coronation street though!!) And apparently to a finely tuned ear my Spanish has picked up a bizarre intonation that makes me sound like a foreigner, despite it being my first language

There - that has to be more than enough about me.

So back to Pluschenko and his flailing arms...

Ant

I think there's been more than enough discussion of Mr. Plushenko considering he hasn't skated competitively in years. This was a very welcome break from that! Maybe you need your own thread? ;)

aH forget jude law, i can live with being next Mrs Evita Perón

I have many co-students from england, I love their accent, but as it goes norther of London the most difficult for me to understand is a boy from Sheffield, I miss half words!
I started spanish this year, and I love it! Accent is easier than french cause we have same sounds :)

Me, I suck at picturing, first days in the forum and up until recently, I thought joe, janetfan and antmanb were girls and buttercup a boy. :oThe only one i got right was mathman for obvious reasons!
So back to Pluschenko and his flailing arms...
I m looking forward to season start, it will be fun

Maybe you need your own thread?

yes Ant, B is right, why dont we start talking about your flailing arms!?!

Why would you ever think that buttercup was something a guy would choose ? I'm a girl. Promise. Though not one actually named buttercup ;).

yes Ant, B is right, why dont we start talking about your flailing arms!?!
Ant would never flail his arms. How can you even suggest it? :p

I think that's the way it goes with the English accent - Southern accents including the cockney accent are fairly easy to understand and as you go further north, it gets more and more difficult to understand. It actually amazes me that such a small country can have such a wide variety of different (sometimes barely intelligible accents) Yorkshire accents (like teh sheffield accent) i think is one of the easier ones. The Lancashire accent (where Manchester is) can be more difficult in the more rural areas. But even I struggle to understand strong Liverpool or Newcastle accents. I also think you need to tune in to the Glaswegian accent, but once you do it's ok. NOrthern Irish accents can also be astruggle sometimes!

I started spanish this year, and I love it! Accent is easier than french cause we have same sounds :)

You see until you clarified the other day i thought yuo were french Seniorita! Then you said that you were greek! The spanish and greek accents are very similar!

Why would you ever think that buttercup was something a guy would choose ? I'm a girl. Promise. Though not one actually named buttercup ;).

Strangely enough when you first start posting I thought you were a guy too...i'm not really sure why.

Ant would never flail his arms. How can you even suggest it? :p

It depends if i whoring for a level 3 or 4

Ant

The northest I have been there is edinburgh and I understood the accent as much as I understand japanese.
Why would you ever think that buttercup was something a guy would choose ? I'm a girl. Promise. Though not one actually named buttercup ;).
Buttercup flower is masculine noun in my language, maybe because of that, or I have no idea, you know something is stuck in your mind and it seems right no matter what:laugh: I m a weirdo maybe..

Ant would never flail his arms. How can you even suggest it? :p

Well, it seems his favorite subject:rolleye:, I just thought he should have fun on his own thread :p

I must have been some sort of allien jumping between russia, to spain and france at the same time! :laugh:No french origin, but I live in french speaking country, writing in french keyboard (blah) and have to speak french (blah blah), I m confused myself sometimes:cool:

We are now so far off topic it's amazing. But anyway:
Strangely enough when you first start posting I thought you were a guy too...i'm not really sure why.
That is strange. Why did people think I was a man? We're not going to have another masculinity/feminity discussion, right?

Ant, I can't imagine you'd do flailing arms in any situation. I see you as rebelling against the system like Lambiel did with the spins once.

What little French I have comes from high school and reading stuff on Passion Patinage. I wish I could speak more than two languages.

I just saw on wiki that buttercup is also a fairy, you took your name from there?

We are now so far off topic it's amazing. But anyway:
No news about plushy is good news :) Last news I know, someone in fsu who is seeing him everyday in training said he has very good progress and is really into this:rock:Where are the flock of plushy fans that visited on weekend and I missed them? they will put us on subject right away!

Ant, I can't imagine you'd do flailing arms in any situation. I see you as rebelling against the system like Lambiel did with the spins once.

maybe he will do head banging, face touching and pelvic thrusting that he looooooves so much!

I have a large problem switching between languages when it is necessary and thats ends up speaking like an ufo in any language including greek:unsure:

Seniorita - the Edinburgh accent is known for being the softest scottish accent in the country - venture away from there and the accents get stronger!

Buttercup - i fear discussing what sex people come across as on a mesasge board will lead back to the masculinity/femininity arguments again. I don't really know i just read your style of writing as being male. I also get thrown when people use avatars as i tend to associate the pictures with them so Medusa was actually stephane lambiel in my mind for a long, just like Mathman is Yuka Sato (his avatar was of Yuka for a long time before his current one!).

And to both of you - i will not arm flail, head bang, touch my face (though that's not one of my pet peeves!), or pelvic thrust. I promise you that!

Ant

so Medusa was actually stephane lambiel in my mind for a long,
lol, thats the funniest i ve heard!:bow:you think i m plushenko?
medusa are you stephan?
And to both of you - i will not arm flail, head bang, touch my face (though that's not one of my pet peeves!), or pelvic thrust. I promise you that!

but why? too bad, i wont root for you then, not my cup of tea ;)

no stops, no pelvic thrust but brian is your fav:think: interesting..

Stopping and mugging in front of the judges is Joe's pet peeve not mine (though i don't like it).

I've said in the other post that i can like a skater and still point out their shortcomings, Yags being the best example of that.

But i have to give it to Joubert i always await his programmes with interest, they usually do actually interest me. He chooses music that is so much to my taste that i'm trying to get a copy of Rise in order to do an adult programme to it myself. BUT rest assured there will be no pelvic thrusts (ewwww). No stopping and mugging to the judges (there isn't enough time for it ni an adult programme), I will not flail my arms (as i struggle enough to pull of clean turns in step sequences without flapping like a chicken), and i will not be doing the running man as i will fall over!

Ant

I like music choices of brian as music pieces, i m not sure i like them as music for skating, safri duo rules though, but i just dont like the beginning and the thing in steps where he stops and runs, plus the waving to tarasova.
I dont have any prob with Jouby, neither choreo you say nor his skate, but it is his body that looks stiff to me and prevents me for liking what I watch. Anyway i dont like speaking bad about a skater, I like more balletic skaters with finishing moves, details in hands and nice lines, and yes, plush is included in them, but there is no reason to debate that, cause I will turn to not only blue but into the whole rainbow colors:laugh:
flapping like a chicken
is this british humor??? :pI see you surpassed from the windmill hands to another level
