Actually because my love of skating has developed in English I have very little knowledge of skating terms, or descriptions for skating in spanish! Actually because I've seen an awful lot of french commentary on skating I have more skating vocabulary in french than i do in spanish

And for some reason I cannot for the life of me think of a good translation for flailing arms in spanish...hmmmmm....i'll get back to you on that one

For Ant - I was wondering come World Cup time , or even International friendlies - who do you root for? Argentina, or England?
I am American and root for our little team first but I am a big Argentina fan.
Or it is possible you don't follow futbol/footbal?

I am not a football fan at all but I do watch the world cup, and from a very early age have been programmed to support Argentina which is useful since they are, by and large, the better team! That and the fact that I don't take football seriously so it's always funny to wind up my friends who take football oh-so-seriously and laugh when England gets knocked out! Especially by Argentina by penalty shoot out (though there was at least one time where England beat Argentina in a penalty shoot out)!

Italy are through to the final !

To lots of young people here those four weeks three years ago were such an exhilirating experience, a non-stop party, often the first time in our lives we felt really really patriotic and were able to celebrate that in the streets - it was magical, amazing, incredible. So I think we all remember getting kicked out by Italy, but I don't think so many of us really care. I actually feel worse about France (and Zidane, my all-time favourite sportsman) not winning.

I agree - it was a great WC. Double disappointments for me with my beloved Argies going out on pk's - and then my favorite Euro team losing the finals on pk's arrrgghh !! Maybe my favorites will do better in Vancouver :yes:

Well, it`s a bit late to comment on this post now, but I haven`t found time earlier. Do some of you remember the hilarious French comment of Evgeni being "le tigre du lac Baikal"??? I got tears laughing and very nearly fell off my chair. As far as I remember an alternative was "le tigre du Siberie". OMG! If I am right Cavalli will do Evgeni`s costum for the new season. Isn`t he the one with those outrageous "I`m so sexy" animal prints??? He could do a nice tiger costume, and we will do the roaring (with laughter)
