Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

Evan's not with her at the moment according to an interview she did at the end of the season this year ;) he's up for grabs, ladies ;)

I think it's great that Evan's out there pushing through the idea that shorter is better ;)

Tanith is also the tallest girl skater. Maybe they were meant for each other
Her icenetwork bio says 5 feet 6. As does her official website. (I love that website, it is so cooool)

Domnina is 5 feet 8 / 173cm. That's quite tall. But then again Shabalin is taller than Agosto (though the Icenetwork bio might have screwed that one up - it says 6 feet 2 for Shabalin, but ISU says 183cm - this picture makes me believe ISU more, that's not more than 10cm difference).

Found a Puppy-Shabalin on their official website.

@Tonichelle, why don't you ask Evan out? You are the same age I think, you both love figure skating...

Oh god, this is not a thread anymore, this is the Sun Newspaper online.:rolleye:
There are Mishin news but Mishin has given us the forgetfulness Potion and threaten to petrify us otherwise , so :p
I was going to ask evan out but now i learn he is so tall there will be a problem:p And plushy is engaged, ah too bad, I think I ll root for Jouby now

no no prob with his cyst, he had injections as he had said, now he trains ok,
for the rest you say, i just pretend i didnt read it.

Whoa, that's too many competitions. In that pace, he's going to injure himself before the olympics. I can't see him competing at all the events listed.
I wasn't too fond of the idea of Zhenya's return at first, but I'm really warming up and looking forward to it. I can already picture Joubidou landing three quads in my head.

Maybe..or maybe he has many people to jinx him anyway.I like your positive thought.
I hope him and Joubert staying healthy and Joubert lands 103 quads.
People need to decide if it is a lot of competitions he is entering or if he needs a second grand prix because there are not enough competitions to establish him in front of judges, cause I cannot debate both ways:laugh:

Ha! Success! I knew you would admit you like Brian before I had to do the same for Plushy

OT mods, can we add seniorita's smilies over there on the side? I think they would add a lot to the discussion. Much more than the size 1 font, stop it people!

1. I think Brian should aim for 1 SP quad and two LP quads. Stop the talk about 3 quads in the LP, it's doing him no good and seems to have become a distraction. 2 quads is reasonable for him.

2. I say Plushy should do 1 GP, just to get some reaction to his programs. He's not that young for a skater and has had health issues, so really doing many events could be counterproductive.

Skaters' height:
Tomas and Alban are also taller than Brian Joubert. To me, Brian doesn't look heavy on tv, in fact at times he has seemed too thin. And Tanith I think is not only shorter than Domnina but also shorter than Carolina Kostner - who is really tall compared to many of the other ladies. Kiira Korpi is also pretty tall according to her ISU bio.

Sasha, on the other hand, has unnecessary strategy, imo for her comeback. Doing Teb, she is up against, arguably the best in America; and the two World top female skaters and throw in a remade Kostner, she could be off the podium.

I understand what you are saying Joe, but at the same time my gut feeling is that Coeh is doing the right thing. She's not doing the bare minimum that would be required, she's (at least planning to) go out all guns blazing - do every comeptition she can and hopefully reach the GPF. I don't think we should be criticising athletes because they're going to compete in the same comeptitions as wveryone else who wants to win.

SA would have been enough for the self test. If things do not go in her favor, will she skate Nats?

If she doesn't skate at Nationals then she has no chance whatsoever of getting to the Olympics.

In my mind, she is testing the waters, and TEB's results could have those guns unable to fire. About a mile down the road the waters are less volatile to blow her mind. Just my thoughts. She will get international judging experience at SA. and a good show will raise her spirits. Of course US Nats is the key to the Olys. Just questioning if she has two poor showings in the GPs, will she want to go further?

Ballanchine started a revolution in auditioning dancers some years ago when he would not accept anyone with a long torso and short legs. It has nothing to do with the height of the dancer (skater) but the length of the legs.compared to the torso. Tanith has the legs.

I think the answer is definitely. She's said that nationals and the Olympics are her goal and two poor showings in the GP wouldn't matter ni the grand scheme of things as skaters generally get stronger and stronger as the season goes on. Unless the poor results are a result of an injury I don't think there will be any question of her being at nationals.

I will cheer for him. I will watch his programmes carefully. I will give my honest opinions about his skating.

Those are all promises I will happily make to you seniorita!

Since you seem to be the queen of smilies there isn't one of someone playing a celo is there?

Ant
