Wow. This is the first time that all his jumps really looked as solid as they were in 2006. I am in awe. The program also suits him much better than Chopin.

I actually don't really like this SP besides his amazing jumps. The music and the movements are a little disconnected in some parts. Who made this program? Maybe this time, he has just focused on the jumps, then later he would add more transitions? I certainly hope so. Joubert was right about this program but he was just too honest.

Joubert couldn't have seen this program because it is the first time it appears on the media. 
I got surprised to see Plushy's short as a whole, ah I m too ill to appreciate it now, I think I liked chopin more, but for a draft it looks ok, everywhere he appeared this month he did his jumps so that's good.
About weddings and fan stuff, there are different types of fans I guess, I m fan of his spirit as an athlete, his skating (and his dog!) I m not really interested in anyone's wedding unless I m the bride:boohoo:

Joubert had seen the LP, that to me modest opinion is so bad as this SP. (Good jumps but it does not have choreography, no synchronization with the music, without transitions, bad spins .... I hope that he improves very much) .

- Frankly, I'm pleased that merely made a very complicated cascade - a quadruple toe loop and triple lutz. It is clear, that I should still increase speed and step sequences, and to my coach Alexei Mishin and me is perfectly clear, over what we should still work. But the today's skating turned out to be clean enough, and if I could repeat it at the Olympics - I would not mind...

Yes, it appears that he failed a combination of 4+3+2 (fell at the first jump
... so, it would be his first time this season ), the second quad successfully jumped, and the rest of "Tango" 
I also am a fan of his spirit as an athlete. He is not my favorite skater,but if he won or medaled I would be very happy and proud for him. I also think he has a very nice camel with some arch in his back. It is so early for him to be landing the really tuff jumps in a performance situation. He really can only improve.

hwell: Are you really that surprised, given his 2006 programs? As long as Plushenko hits those big jumps of his, he probably won't need any transitions or profound interpretation of the music. If 2006 is anything to go by, he'll get massive PCS anyways.
To end this post on a more positive note, Plushenko's jumps look quite impressive especially in light of his time away from competitive skating (be afraid, men...be very afraid) and he seems to have retained his excellent command of the ice. Plushenko is BACK.

he just started skating this season, this was a show of no much importance and he has competition in 2 weeks, he said he is in his up and downs now, and still he managed to skate a decent program... spins in my opinion are far better than 2006 considering it is evgeni we talk about, he needs to add speed there, and he needs lots of stuff, but the man managed to came back to his form and tries to fix his weaknesses, I think he has improved very much , a large step since six months ago par example, so cut him some slack ok?

I saw it again and it looks like a transition program from chopin, I m sure Plushy needs time cause he was training to chopin so many months, I m sure they will change music arrangement like 10 times and fix this choreo.

2006 Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko skated yesterday his free program during the control skate as a member of the Russian team of figure skating. Plushenko, who did all his planned jumps except the triple Lutz, talked about his current shape and plans.
- Why did you fell in the triple lutz?
- It was nothing terrible. I just hurried into the combination, it was supposed to be a combination, but I was a combination, but I was in a hurry. It's all normal, I was satisfied with all the other jumps and I did a quadruple toe loop. The program, considering the time I've had to prepare it, it was done well. Now I'm at my 70% shape.
- Can you tell us your goal at Vancouver?
- No, I promised I won't. I just want to skate. To skate by it is own, it's worth it. If everything works, then the result will come.
- But any meda in particular?
- If I can get into the top three, it will be a great pleasure and a good gift.
- And what about the Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi?
- You know, I have business partners who has offerred me to sign a contract until 2014. They are ready to fully pay for my training and performances to Sochi. But I just told them that it is simply impossible. Olympics at age 31? .. No, I have to master these Games and that will be enough.

Yep, Papa Mishin is hilarious to read when he is in the mood to do interviews. I can't remember the exact interview but there was one when they asked Mishin if it was hard for Evgeni to come back and Mishin's answer is "Of course it was hard, what kind of question is that?"

Thanks for posting the link, I haven't read that interview, it's a great read. Thank god, that Javier wants to be a coach. Normally I roll my eyes if I read that the skaters all want to become coaches - but Javier is the best figure skater Spain has had in, I don't know, forever? He better becomes a coach and promotes the sport down there.
