Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

I dont think there is a reason to do it, I mean he can have two quads with other way in his programs as we had said before rather than risk this, but wouldnt it be just cool to see this in competition? And 3axel-half loop-3 flip?
This went to ipod to make my day!
But just wow:bow: for the fact that when plush decides to come back, he comes back for good!
Καλημέρα Πλούση!!!
I will start rehearshing the janetfan's song first thing in the morning, maybe I will need it.

Yes, crazy jump layouts would be cool (I want KvdP to do a 3-3-3-3-3-3-etc., myself ). But I do believe Plushenko's training time would be better spent working on areas in his skating where he's not that strong rather than on jump combinations he's unlikely to try in competition (Because really, why bother? The current scoring makes it a waste of energy and an unnecessary risk).

I want to see super-secret footage of Michal Brezina training a 4F. We all know he could do it. :)

Because he was probably just trying it for fun as a one off rather than actually training it seriously? And not every single last second of practice has to be focussed on your programme or the elements you plan in them ;)

On a more serious consideration of it - his jump layout will need some serious re-thinking if he does plan to do a second quad toe. Maybe he is seriously planning a 3A/4T combination. If anyone is interested the Base value of 3A/4T would be 18points!

I always remember Stojko back in the day saying he'd tried to land some 3T/4T combinations and his comment was that you'd have to be just flying coming out of the 3T to get it.

Oh, it's all fun and games until someone tears an ACL... Seriously, unless he intends to do it in competition or is really intent on psyching out the other guys, he should maybe focus on having fun in ways that don't increase the risk of injury.

* I do not want Plushenko to tear his ACL. That's an awful injury and hard to recover from, as we are now seeing in Takahashi's case. Good luck, Dai. And don't practice 3-4s :).

Maybe it is part of his training and not intended to be done in competitions, if he can do a quad out of an axel, maybe it is a method to have it as solid as it can be?although I would love Plushy to say in Olys "what the heck, I have a gold medal, lets party with those jumps now"
It has been posted also a video of him landing a 4s early in season and he has said it was training tactic and wont try it in competitions.
I think he would do his famous axel sequence though to get two quads.
In any case it was freaking awesome to see this!
Please Plushy dont get hurt!

Actually that's a really, REALLY good point, that hadn't even crossed my mind. Maybe it was just because it looked so easy for him. Risk of injury trying things like this is probably the best argument to not try them at all - especially landing more than a third short on rotation like that will put unnecessary strain on his knees, which Plushy really doesn't need.

Maybe like Seniorita says it's something he's played with in order to make just the solo 4T and 4T/3T combo feel like a piece of cake.

I thought it was a 3ax-3t but no, it's a 3ax-4t!

Plushenko training, the video was uploaded today, I imagine it's from a recent training

I know it's UR but wow!

Omg, I just had to post after seeing this on youtube the other day! It's just phenomenal, blew me away, had to watch it over & over & over again, lol.

When all is said & done it is guys like Plushenko, Stojko, and Joubert that make me love this sport, and if it came down to choosing between art & sport, sport will always win out for me. Yes, I love guys like Abbott for their artistry, but nothing compares to athletic brilliance on ice, nothing. Except of course the O-N-E that can combine the two, and is *not* a headcase.

Part of being a great champion is being able to lay it down when it counts, nobody likes a splatfest, thus my hat goes off to great champions like Evgeni, Brian, and Elvis to name a few. Especially Evgeni. WOW. To see him keep on advancing the sport is one for the ages. He belongs in the same category as the GIANTS of sport, not just figure skating.

I look forward to seeing more of Evgeni's progress on youtube. He & Apolo Anton Ohno have me excited about the upcoming Winter Olympics. Like Michael Jackson, mediocrity never even enters their being...

..............and if Alexei's hip didn't give out then he would so be a part of all of this. Now all he is doing is making babies.

Yes, if Michael had lived to pull off his tour it would have been the top, the best and most exciting tour of all time!!!

All he is doing? Multiplying Yagudin by making little yagudin-babies is a pretty good job i think:bow:
I want to see a dozen of little yags and plushys, and voila, you will have the last two final flights of men at the Olympics:biggrin:

When some of his nearest competitors are having reliability problems with their 3 axels and most others are yet to land a quad in competition. and Plushenko jumps them in combination... talk about making a statement, u can raise ur finger as much you what Plushy, ur the first at least try the crazy combo.

Yeah. amen to that.. I see nuthin wrong with the finger, he has the right to show it so arragontly after doing those crazy jumps with ease..
I think I would also go for the athletic side.. Although once in a while skaters like Yagudin come along who pretty much commanded both sides equally.. Then it's all :bow::bow::bow::bow:
I hope baby girl Yagudin will become the female version of her daddy..:yes: (it is a girl, right?)

The reports are that they're having a girl. Since both of her parents are Olympic champions, I imagine she'd be pretty talented if she ever took to skating - but knowing from their own experience how hard it is, I'm pretty certain her parents would not push her into skating competitively unless she really wanted it.

Huh? Figure skating skill is not inherited like hair colour or anything. There might be stuff like ability for fine motor skills, a feeling for balance - that are partly inherited, but at the same time so many factors can influence even these skills. For all we know, their daughter could turn out to be a chubby, clumsy, short-sighted math geek.

Yeah... no one needs one more who will go ga-ga and drooling over Plush's latest crazy feat but- MAN- like- IS HE REAL? HUMAN? Some people seem so superhuman they might as well be superheros.

Jump-Man should be Zhenya's name, really, although I love him for everyhing else BUT his jumping skills- I have to admit he is a wizard with his jumps. Holy cow.

:bow::clap::rock::agree::biggrin:
