My gosh, so much skating I had to catch up on, especially Evgeni & all the articles.

My favorite was the one about him & his lovely wife, great insight into Evgeni & his personal life, though I felt like a voyeur, lol. Good to know that my favorite male skater is beautiful both inside & out, though not a requirement, it's a bonus!:thumbsup:

And I liked reading about Daisuke using Zhenya's quad as the marker to what to aspire to; basically the same thing Patrick Chan said a couple of months ago, how he uses the latest technology to study & emulate Evgeni's technique on the quad & the triple axel. Good to know that Evgeni is a positive role model for the young ones out there.

When they ALL step on the ice with him at the Olympics, they will feel it, in more ways than one. As Kozuka said at Rostelecom Cup "He didn't compete for three years, but as soon as I saw him, I knew that there was a true Olympic Champion on the ice," respectfully said Japan's Takahiko Kozuka, the distant silver medalist at Rostelecom Cup

I think Joubert over Plushy is also a strecth and the reverse scenario is more likely, but it's my dream podium after all.. ;)

I like Thomas Verner too! And I think with a strong performance he can make it. It´s great that he go for the quad, like my other sweatheart skaters Joubert, Plushenko and Lambiel.

Figure skating is amazing again with the two comebacks!

I wish them all big performances at the winter olympic games!
 
schiele, Is Lambiel laughing in your version f dream podium?, i am quite confident that he he will have tears of joy like Torino.

His and Federer's tear at olympics made me laugh with joy.

Oh, that is all down to Seniorita.. If it was for me, I'd have a more serious Lambiel and a more silly faced and smily Joubert.. My contribution to those avatars was soely Tomas Verner (and the podium as well :laugh:), the rest of the avatars Seniorita did herself.
On the second thought, I think Jouby would also have tears of joy if he could make the olympic podium. I wouldn't mind having two crybabies on the podium, Plushenko can create the balance with his coolness. :laugh:
 
Plushy is not cold on podiums as he has been accused, you just need to look closer. Torino was a great moment for me, and he looked anything but being there , done that attitude. Maybe he is not the cry person but in medal ceremony you can see his emotions. Of course Lambiel was the cutest.

Btw, I didn't say he was cold, I meant he was cool, more composed and together than most. I guess that comes with winning almost everything (but then again, he was always composed, even as far back as 2000).
My funniest memory of this (cool Plushy vs Crybaby Jouby) was in 2004 when the latter beat him (the only time :frown:) in this
Ok, on second thought it was funny but also very emotional.. He's beaten the King after all.. Special attention to the wonderful flower design! :laugh:

Why are most smiling they are in third place? :rolleye: Plushy on the second is a little less smiling, but the "winner" was so sad and confused :scratch::chorus:

lol. the flower design is a bit ridiculous:laugh:it looks like those kind of plants that will open suddently and eat your face in a spielberg movie.
I dont remember that Jouby cried but the photo is very cute, with jouby all emotional and plushy fixing his coiffure, I like tough men crying:p

Some of them, especially the last one had me ROTFLMAO!:rofl: But I got a bit choked up in that one wherein Stephane Lambiel is looking up at Evgeni's gold medal, which he hoisted in the air. I remember how Stephane cried in 2006 with tears of joy for his silver medal; only he & Liz Manley seemed truly pleased with their silver medals at their respective Olympics. Also, Brian Joubert's tears in that one pic was touching. Just reinforces my belief that it is truly something special when a skater manages to beat the best of the best, something they will remember for the rest of their life.

And as Verne Lundquist said once during his Olympic coverage, you don't think skating at the Olympics is something special...

Of course I appreciate her work.

But next time I want to be warned. I always cruise through Goldenskate during my study breaks - but today I had to cruise FSU instead. I am not good with changes in my routine.

embarrassment for who?:o It is not like all previous OC had returned to get the gold again and if he wont he will be the worst in the classroom! Isn't it too much expectation? A year ago people didnt believe he would come back, let alone come back in competitive form and now he is the favorite for Gold and nothing less than Gold? It is crazy and as much I would like to dream, I think many can beat him and he has to fight for his place this time. But he is a fighter;)

I know why Lambiel and Dai grab our heart, and I can get why Plushenko might not work to some, but with all the objectivity I can have, brian has emotional skating and plushenko not? I m watching a wrong channel?
