I don't get why people think Kovtun is massively overscored in PCS. 82 isn't obscenely high and he hit his jumps other than the opening quad. Hanyu missed his 1st quad so many times this season and has gotten personal bests for it.

The people saying Yana was right are missing the point. Kovtun could NOT have medaled given the scores of the top 3. That was my initial complaint - that she is putting too high expectations. There's a difference also between Tarasova saying Kovtun will win and hyping him versus Yana saying he must win - as in there's something wrong with him or he's a failure if he doesn't medal. Especially when Plushenko wouldn't have medaled even at his current best.

Yes, I don't think that. Those fans said that who wanted Plush for themselves, they were jealous. But honestly Yana wasn't too famous outside of Russia or the slavic country..But she is world famous.. If you read the American media many articles was written about Yana in February and March( for ex the Cosmopolitan) as Evgeni Plushenko's wife. Without Plushy they probably would not have known her name..
