Practice pass poo

Warmups and bus passes

Maybe some good news for a change. I haven't received a reply to any of the emails I've sent to the LOC or USFSA so today I called the main number at the USFSA and asked to speak to someone about an event. I ended up with a fellow named Bob. I asked Bob whether all event ticket holders would be allowed in the Xcel Center for warmups and he said YES. Claimed no one but me had asked that question. I mentioned my email of a week ago and he said he never received it.

I also asked him about the possibility of a free bus pass. He said that depended on which hotel you were at. I said well, a hotel that is currently on the shuttle system and all event ticket holders that did not ask for a refund. He said that is still be considered.

There is a very serious communication gap  between the public and USFSA if this conversation is any indication. Bob also told me that the schedule for warmups had only been decided yesterday and that was why nothing was on the website. I told him that at this point I wasn't even worried about the schedule, I want to know if I am going to be allowed to see them.

Where are you guys getting the practice/warm-up schedules?
I don't really understand why Pleasant is hosting the practice sessions--it's a small rink (and has only enough seats for a few club parents), and very little room to spread out.

I think we should all get together and write down every single thing we have issues with and hand them a letter at the event lol... this is getting annoying!

bus passes

Well, sorry to say the Official word is tuff S--t. Usfsa say they are willing to throw away their committed and loyal fans in order to get new fans for the Olympics.
I've been talking with Jullie Jutten who is the new head of the "friends of figure skating" program and she did go to bat for us. The head of events at usfsa says it would set a pressident to even give us cheap bus passes to make up for ripping us off with our non- practices pass-all event tickets.
Sorry to deliver the sad news but usfsa doesn't care about you nor does St Paul.
I will never trust them again with an all-event ticket purchase. In fact I will have a hard time getting my tennis fan husband to ever attend another usfsa event. I'm afraid St Paul will be our last.
Shame on them, Damon Howze, Austin, texas

that's sad to hear

maybe you could attend events in Canada... I hear they treat the fans better lol

They definitly don't treat fans very nice. At Skate America, the first practice session would start at 8 am. They would not let people into the arena until 8 am!! So the skaters were already on the ice. The security people at the Sovereign arena said that it wasn't them that was making that decision but the event organizers!! It would have been nice to get into the arena and be seated about 10 minutes before the practice sessions started. In fact, every morning I sat outside and spoke with Kim Navarro's mother. She was really nice but was not happy that each morning her daughter was in the first practice session and she missed the first few minutes of it.

If they want people to attend these events and support skaters they really need to be nicer to us fans!!

they didn't even let in family? wow... normally the USFSA lets them in with no fuss.
