Predictions?

Any Predictions? And for clarification, which sections compete at whch challenge event? I've never really followed these competitions before.

Eastern Challenge: PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Quebec, Eastern Ontario, Central Ontario

Western Challenge: Western Ontario, Northern Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and Nunavet, Saskatchewan, British Columbia & Yukon.

Senior Challenge events: Senior skaters from both east and west compete in one large semi-Cdns event and vie for the very few spots ...12 pair teams...14 dance teams....18 men and 18 women....including last season's medallists, JGP finalists, and those with a SGP who all go straight to Canadians and reduce the number of available slots to those seniors forced to go to Challenge. This is the first year of a senior Challenge event.....seniors used to go straight to Canadians if they qualified through sectionals......

Does anyone know where there is a list of competitiors going to the Challenges? SC should know who they are by now and I would have thought a list would be posted somewhere?

Although I note SC has not been updating the web under the national team section.

A short note on the available spots for Canadians at the senior level

Women - Top 14 at challenge go to Canadians . - total 18 ladies
4 ( Rochette, Phaneuf , Leung , Hawker) have direct byes with the GP assignments.

Men - Top 11 at challenge go to Canadians - total 18 men
6 ( Chan , Chipheur , Buttle , Mabee , Sawyer , Reynolds) have GP byes.
Sandhu also has a bye for medalling at Canadians last season. Sandhu did say he intended to compete at Canadians.

Pairs - Top 7 at challenge go to Canadians - total 12 pairs
4 ( Dube/Davison, Langlois/Hay , Miller/Moram , Duhamel Buntin ) have GP byes
1 ( Velenosi/ Fernandez) have bye due to making JGPF.

Dance - Top 10 at challenge go to Canadians - total 15 dance couples
3( Virtue/Moir, Weaver/Poje, Mccurdy/Coreno) have GP byes
2( Crone/Poirier , Lenko/Islam) have byes by making the JPGF

Actually - 14 dance teams move on to Canadians -- and since there are 16 teams, two will be left home after challenge.

Wrong redhotcoach. At the senior level there will be a maximum of 15 dance teams. Since 5 teams have direct byes to nationals ( see my previous post) that means that only 10 teams will qualify out of challenges.
