Qu about avatars

I've already chosen mine, but last week I decided to look at the list of pictures again and I noticed there were several that I didn't think were there before. My question is - are you going to be carrying on adding new avatars over time? I mean, is there any point in going to that section to look at new ones that have been added, or is that it?

Paula says, no new avatars have been added. The reason new ones appear is that people reach 100 posts and send in their own custom avatar, giving back into the pool the one they had at first.

What about the members that have an avatar but don't come back to the site? Do you guys just lose that pic?
