Russian Qualifiers and other important competitions

How do I say it... Tsurskaya has great elevation on her jumps. But the package seems forced. I don't feel natural. The same problem I feel with Serafima this season. She was so original last season. Of course she's much better now but I couldn't help feeling that there is some copy paste style there. Still they are sooo young they will develop so it's okay for now.

Copy paste from whom? I can't see anyone having the same style as she has, so she couldn't copy it if she is the only one. Tsurskaya style remind me of Medvedeva last year, but Medvedeva is now much more powerful. But Tsurskaya still has a year to work on it.

I'd say Twurskaya's movements now seem forced and learnt, not natural but I can understand since she is so young.
Medvedeva is now much more natural than Serafima to me. I don't know how to say express it but Serafima's SP is so much Yulia-like I don't feel it's natural. I would like to see another format for Serafima. I liked her programs from last year more. In my opinion Medvedeva is more original now.
But they're still junior, lot of things will change in the future.

You must be joking. Serafima dances. Julia may have similar style to Medvedeva, but definitely Serafima skates completely different.

It's the package not the way they skate. Even my friend who loves Russian girls agree that Serafima has a Yulia-like package this season.

Well, I disagree. The only thing they have in common is that they are starting their program with a look, and that they are trying to portray a story. But that's all.

Their Lps are different (but We haven't seen Yulia's Lp this season yet) but the SP, even the costume. I don't know but I feel the packages are so much alike. Frankly I am the type who never care much about the story of the programs (just the same as I listen to music, it's absolute music that I care). That's why I never see much problems with skaters skating to SL. I care what I see on the ice. I don't like Serafima's SP this season, I think they could have chosen something better and more original for her.
But well, it's like they used the same format for her IMO. Not that has anything wrong since the girl is still winning. But their package for Serafima this season make me turn to Medvedeva more.

Isn't Serafima's SP the waltz? so which program of Julia does it remind you? As far as I am concerned, she dances it and I can't remember Julia dancing anything. In fact, Serafima is hitting all the beats, whereas the same couldn't always be said about Julia. Julia is not a dancer. She is accomplished story teller with her skating, but she definitely doesn't dance, so I can't see what package do you think they have in common.

step sequence.

I like everything about Serafima and Yulia. I do think Eteri packages her students very similarly but I don't think Serafima or Yulia skate at all alike. Same element done in unison with two different approaches.

I think the landings are Eteri's trademark. It's a posture thing that she teaches and her students tend to flow really easily from one element to the next. But Serafima is a performer where as Yulia is more of a technician.

^ my point is the packages are alike, I didn't say that they skate alike.
And the step sequences are in deed, choreoraphed alike IMO, I look at their feet, not their upper bodies.

I feel that way about all step sequences. Too much emphasis on the number of things and not the impact of the sequence to the program itself but alas....that is for another thread.

I think Yuna's stsq look very different to Mao's, Carolina's stsq looks different as well. Of course they are veterans and we couldn't compare since they have different coaches and training.
But well, some skaters like Yuzuru and Javi have different stsq even though they have same coach, and their stsq look much different to PChan as well eventhough they all have the same choreoraphers (JB and DW).
I don't say that Serafima's programs are copy paste from Yulia's, it's not that but I can sense the similarities. And so does my friend, and she loves Yulia as hell.
Anyways it's not like I dislike Serafima. She is lovely and I enjoy watching her skate very much (still prefer Radionova despite her poor postures). I just want to put some comments and if that make me an anti-Russian girls then I have no word to say.

It's all good. I see similarities too but the differences more than make up for it to me.

Seraphima's package this season is indeed very Yulia-like, and it doesn't help that they even look a little like. Medvedeva is the more original skater, but originality is not something in the COP.

Zenkova gave a whiny interview about Zhulin not paying attention to them. I feel bad that they got beaten in the short dance by a team that couldn't make the jr. team but they have to understand that they are way at the bottom of their coach's list of priorities. B/S, M/K, the Turks, the Ukrainians, Khachaturyan and Bagin, even Tiffany and Jon once they find a country to compete for all have more promising futures than this team.

I like the Senior version of Evgenia's FS, but the Junior one makes even more sense to me, because there is the same music before and after the energetic part, so you can clearly see the transition good girl-bad girl and then bad girl-good girl...
