OK, I feel horrible criticizing Mira Leung, so I thought I'd start a thread stating at least one nice thing about her...

1. I love Mira's catchfoot camel. She doesn't look like a peeing dog when getting into position. In fact, she starts out already in a hands-free doughnut position. Nobody in the world does that.

2. The well-centred spins

Not to mention, if Mira started to improve her skating, I can see her going in this direction (with better jumps, of course):

I can say three...DETERMINATION, DETERMINATION, DETERMINATION. Paul and Barb both commented on Mira's work ethics as a skater and say she is convinced one day whe will be on the podium. She has a long way to go, but who knows? I think she can do it!!!

Go Mira

- I like her spins and her flexibility is good. Also she usually stays on her feet when she jumps. It is very unusual for her to fall. Poor kid, had a bad day!!!

I like the fact that she never holds back in her performances. Even when things aren't going so well she never tapers things back.

Her flexibility is also great.

I think she has good "music sense" (by which I mean she seems to be skating more or less TO the music, as opposed to just having it on for background because they told them they had to bring a tape), and that is the one basic quality that I want to see in ANY skater.

Good centering.

She wears headbands.

I like watching her as much as and sometimes more then other skaters.

Always interested what people have to say about her.

She didn't let people assume and came out with an announcement.

A close relationship with Mom - priceless regardless of FS or not.

Nice teeth, silky hair.

I think she is a better skater than Dick Button.

That she hasn't paid anybody off to find out the identies and addresses of board posters and hunted them down...

That she is basically a good little skater who simply needs to get a makeover cause she's a cute girl - just needs some polish

I LOVE LOVE LOVE a fighter

When she responds to commentators questions, she answers them in an intelligent manner and doesn't grunt and a make a silly chuckle sound after her response. She seems mature for her age.:)

Even though she's got an attitude, you're right about one thing--she doesn't respond like a typical skater or athlete; she directly addresses the question.

Which one is she exactly? She's the Asian Canadian right < I'm sorry if that wasn't the currently PC terminology. I've only watched her skate once. I liked the dress she had on but, I really wish she would have had some make-up on. The skating was fine- nothing spectacular but, very few of the ladies today are.

I met her and she was very down to earth and nice.

She's a very consistent skater (Worlds was an anomaly:frown: )

Personally, I love her! She is the only bright spot in Ladies when I watch Canadian nationals, and she really doesn't deserve the hate she gets on message boards.
Rock on, Mira!

She has a great work ethic.

She's the most consistent competitor I've seen in Canadian women's skating since...well, as far back as I can remember, anyway!
