Senior Ladies Qualifying

I probably won't get everything posted tonight, so please bear with me. I don't have my laptop with me, so I'm subject to someone else needing to get on the computer that I'm using. I do have some sort of notes on everyone.

Group 1

One withdrawal in ladies qualifying - Kristin Bonkowski.

S. Lemonde - Send in the Clowns, burgundy w/silver Tough skate - only doubles that I saw with one fall and a pop. Also lost a spin and had to put her hand down.

MC Grenier - Korobushko, ivory (reminds you of a Cynthia Phaneuf dress). Step out on her opening combination. Multiple changes of position on her first 2 spins; spiral into double (step out). Ended after her music.

H Lee - Tango music, black w/sequins and red underskirt. Nice speed but unfortunately 3 falls. However still a pers. best/ Multiple positions in her spins. COE spiral.

G. Fiore - Spanish Rhapsody, light blue. Tough skate - all doubles and singles. Only 2 positions in spiral sequence. Also ended after music.

Group 2

M. Boucher - Watch Hill, lavendar halter style. Nice 2Axel to open followed by 3/2 combo. Ran into some issues after the good start. First Bielman position of the ladies QR. Really nice interpretation and soft skater.

ME Lavigne - generic female ballad type music, white w/pink and blue on bodice. One of her coaches is Patrice Archetto. Hand down on opening combo. I did see one triple, but several of the other jumps ended up as singles, so I thought that her marks were high.

A. Jones - On the Waterfront, royal blue velvet. She gets marks from me for skating to untypical ladies music that was powerful. Nice spread eagle into 2axel. Two 2/2 combos. One fall. Ended way past music. Personal best.

M. Brodeur - Imagine, white dress. Really nice speed. Opened with 2axel. Had 2 falls, but some nice spins. Personal best.

E. Tisluck - Violin and piano music, periwinkle w/ white lace. Fell on opening triple followed by 2axel and nice falling leaf. Nice stretch in her positions, but didn't hold her spiral positions long enough. Personal best.

Group 3

M. Laporte - Spanish music, black lace w/open back. Opened with triple. Did 2/2/2 combo. Had to put foot down in a spin. Personal best.

J. Cook - Paint It Black, one shoulder black w/red. Couple of falls. Initial spin w/Bielmann position, falling leaf.

S. Lake - Rhapsody in Blue, navy w/purple (looks black from distance). Nice height on opening triple. Step out on second triple. Spiral with COE. Footwork into triple - fall. Nice positions. Marks seemed low, so her triples may have been downgraded as well.

K. Gauthier - Zorro soundtrack, orange w/ pink underskirt crisscross back. Lots of 2 foot landings. Nice spin positions but slow.

D. Szmiett - Sabre Dance/Turkish circus, white w/yellow and red flame. Opening 3/2/2. Fall on triple. Spin w/COE. Spread eagle into jump. Spiral w/Bielmann position. Stumble at end.

Group 4

C. Phaneuf - music???, black w/silver and blue. Class of ladies QR - ended up 18 pts ahead #2 finisher. Nice skate, but you can see that she's still a little rusty. Opens w/2axel. nice speed and flow. Hand down on first triple. 3/2/2 combo. Spiral w/COE. Partially lost one spin.

S Marotta - Carmen, red w/black. Rough skate, but nice height on some of her jumps.

D. Neuls - Gone w/Leaves, royal blue w/black. Couple of triples. Had a fall and step out. spin w/ Bielmann position. Personal best.

A. Billings - Bell Song, fuschia. Tough night for her, but she did one of those skid spirals that I like so much. 2/2/2 combo.

S. Metcalfe - Sabre Dance, Roxanne's Veil (ie: Spanish), black w/multi-colored "shapes" (looks better than it sounds). Opening fall and then step out on a triple. Later triple landed w/2foot. tough night for jumps. Ended after music.

A. Hearder - Pride & Prejudice, purple. OK - She does not look like she's 25! Opening spin -nice to see something different. Not a night for jumps but she did do a double later in the program with both arms over her head. Nice interpretation. Ended after music.

Group 5 - last one

C. Belair - Raiders on the Storm/Light My Fire, black w/ purple, red, and orange - nice. Fell on opening triple. Nice program. Personal best.

K. Caissy - music ???, medium blue cap sleeves. Couple of triples, but also 2 falls and a couple of hands down. Nice split jump. Personal best.

M. Moore - Sabre Dance/Fire Dance; black w/black illusion. Nice 2axel, but had issues with other jumps.

R. Bouschard - Bohemian Fold Dance, brown w/gold. Tough skate.

A. Phillips - The Lonely Shephard/missed second one, deep rose. Two triples to open - second in combo. personal best.

R. Strong - Don Quixote, navy halter. Sorry - I spaced a bit on this last program, so i have lots of ??? in my notes. Almost lost a spin. Spead eagle.
