Sergei Voronov: ‘I choose to skate’

Sergei chose to skate, we chose to stand by him:ghug:

I still re-watch last NHK performances and medal ceremony - it was such a blessing to see him in good shape, still with competition fire. His program choreographed by Denis will bring a lot of emotions into rivalry. And I will see its premiere live in 2,5 weeks time in Bratislava:cheer:

Lucky you! I wish I could go but I've got an important event to attend at that time

My perennial candidate for the title of the one skater that everybody likes.

Best of luck to Sergei for a successful season - regardless of the placements. I can't wait to see him and the long program choreographed by Denis at Skate America - already tearing up thinking about the legacy Denis left behind. I'm so glad that Sergei will be the one carrying it on - he's a very nice person.

I remember the time when I first saw Sergei in person when he was still very young at the 2008 Worlds in Gothenburg. Was so happy about his resurgence last season despite not being chosen for the Olympics. Great interview and so looking forward to seeing his new programs by young choreographers. So sad thinking about Denis but also relieved that Denis left something that we can still look forward to. Best of luck Sergei.

I'm sooo happy Sergei continues. For me he's the most charismatic current Russian skater.
I know it's not the most probable thing (with Misha, Dima and Samarin too) but I'll be dreaming about another traditional EC podium - that is Javi in a Russian sandwich ;) - but this time with Sergei and Maxim!! (But regardless of the results, I'm just glad he continues).

I thought he may retire given that he couldn't go to Olympics again and how hard it can be for him. However, he chose to stay and asked Denis Ten for his new program which is very touching and I can't wait to see it in competition. Thanks Voronov.
