Doesn't surprise me... this happens all the time.
Most of the churches were Baptist and all were in Bibb County, about 25 miles south of Birmingham.

Baptists are probably the ones that get hit most, especially since it's one of the more conservative denominations (though there've been quite a few divisions in teh last 15 years)... sad to hear... very sad. :(

Goodness! This still happens? Reminds me of the movie Mississippi Burning. Sounds like hate and bigotry are still alive and well in those States.

Unfortunately, racism and bigotry is alive and well in all 50 states.

Actually, it happened to church's that had mostly caucasian's and one church that had mostly african-american attendees. So, I'm not sure if race had anything to do with it, but I am sure hate was involved. :(
