Snow Day Today!!!

We won't be getting enough snow for a snow day here in South Jersey, but we are supposed to get 1-3" between later this afternoon and Thurs. morning.
When I was a kid ( a looooong time ago, LOL!), we were jipped...our school district WALKED to school if our parents didn't drive us, no busses, so we rarely had a snow day. It was a REAL celebration if we did. I remember only one in my 7 years of grammar school, none in my high school years.

THey never closed school when I was in High School. They might have closed early. They would send the younger kids home first then the high schoolers. By that time, the roads were horrible and we would put like 10 people in a little car just to be able to have traction to get home. It was kind of fun!!
But not enough snow today and the state and deemed me an essential employee so no matter what I have to come to work. Besides saying I can't drive here won't work, I live less then a mile away and it's a 12 minute walk!!

Tis raining in NW Montana. Our snow disappeared two days ago after it rained for 24 hours & the temp. rose to 55 degrees F. It's about 40 degrees today.

we don't have snow here in AK yet... we've had it, but the chinook winds came in and melted it all away a few weeks back
growing up we didn't have a lot of snow days... ice days more than snow days... but I lived in town... the town of Nikiski had a lot more because a lot of their people live out in no man's land and the buses would get stuck on the unplowed roads...
