Cheeks, a 2006 Olympic gold medalist, is active in efforts to highlight human rights violations in Dafur (China supports the Sudanese government.)

I guess this means Joey won't be sitting with Michelle and Secretary Rice at the closing ceremonies.

It's really a shame. Chica could really use Beijing Games as an opportunity to change its image on global scene (in a much more productive and cheaper way than the futile attempt to change its climate).
