Starr Andrews and Daniil Parkman team up for USA

There have also been rumors floating about a former U.S. pairs lady coming back. Blades & Banter podcast host identified this skater as Ashley Cain. I was not surprised, as Ash was my first guess. If true, though, who would Ash possibly find to partner with, as she is a tall pairs lady.
Daniil!!
He is far too tall for Starr so here is a better option. Too mad? Nope , just in line with all that has been going on.
😄
Who said the off season is boring?

How tall is Danny (O'Shea)? I know that he's agreed to try out with Deanna (and I'm still "in denial" about this potential partnering) but I wonder if (and only if) he and Ashley would be a better match (considering he's tall enough)
Wiki stats indicate Danny's height is 6'0" while Ash Cain is 5'6".

ETA:
Deanna Stellato is listed at 5'1", and Ellie Kam at 5'0".

When I had suspected Ashley Cain as the come back aspirant, Daniil did come to mind. That was and is not how things have evolved, though. Plus, skaters tryout in order to determine if they are compatible. I don't sense that Ash & Danny would necessarly make a good team stylistically.

Of course they do. I was only joking.
At this stage all I want is to hear that Alisa and Misha are not planning anything crazy. I know they are devoted to each other but i just want that little reassurance for my own sanity!

IMO, Alisa & Misha are the one certainty in a swirling sea of change and uncertainty.
Yes, as I said before - last man standing…
BUT don’t forget Alisa wants to go to medical school it always was on the cards, they never actually said anything about next season for definite. I believe they will continue. But seeing that some sort of craziness is sweeping through US pair skating , who knows it may be contagious 🤨

I would be beyond shocked if Alisa/Misha called it quits now. I would not be surprised if they took a year off, though to regroup after their Olympics ineligibility disappointment.

Skaters are looking for a good match. Alisa and Misha are not going anywhere. They're already well matched. She needs a trusting committed guy, and he needs a small girl. They're perfect for each other regardless of the consistency issues. Quitting does not make any sense.

Taking a year off would be quite honestly very foolish. This coming season could/ will cement their position of top national team even further with little effort by the way things are going currently.

Yep, that's reasonably true. But a lot of decisions by skaters haven't necessarily seemed to make sense or gone by the book this off-season. I'm honestly not worried about Alisa/ Misha's partnership, in any case. I hadn't even thought of them in connection with not coming back together. I was responding to your voiced concerns about them. 😉

It will be interesting to see if they can rebound more strongly after not being as sharp as they could have been at 2026 Worlds. I hope they are able to express a stronger connection with more exciting material, which is challenging due to their fairly reserved personalities.

Since this thread is about the Andrews/ Parkman partnership announcement, the question will be, How strongly can Starr & Daniil come together over the next couple of months in order to debut well in their first season? They should both be eligible to receive a pairs GP assignment, perhaps two assignments.

In any case, the Andrews/ Parkman moniker sounds like a law firm, even moreso than McBeath/ Parkman. 😆

I thought he could have done a tryout with Ekaterina Geynish, who's posting herself jumping triples. Taller girl.
Starr is a novice in pairs, which makes me think there's more to this decision than just sport. Especially considering he was doing a GoFundMe with his former partner just a couple of months ago.
I think Daniil seems committed to remaining in the U.S. and repping USfigskating. Geynish does not make sense unless he was still based in Europe and searching for a partner. Having repped the U.S., he'd have to sit out a year and deal with release issues. That would not be conducive for Geynish either. Plus, Geynish is fairly young at age 20 and relatively new to seniors. Starr and Daniil look good together in the posted clips. Obviously, they still have a lot of work to do, with Starr transitioning to pairs. It looks hopeful, though, if they find the right material, and Starr manages to ace the pairs learning curve.

I wasn't aware that the Geynish/ Zandron pairing prospect did not work out. Maybe she'll be able to match with another Russian pairs guy who might be seeking a release from Rusfed, if heights are compatible.

The GoFundMe that McB/Park started was specifically to help them with training and travel expenses, etc., for competing at '26 Prague Worlds. We have to wait and see if Katie is planning to continue with a different partner or if she's contemplating retiring. She hasn't posted anything yet about her plans, emotions, or desires.
