To invite Professor and my Teacher Alexei Mishin to China with his skaters trough His busy schedule. And to bring most of Chinese coaches and skaters from all around China to Beijing (which in total was over 70 people). Its been an honor to be : Manager, Organizer, Translator, Choreographer and Student for this great event. #ThankYouAll #Beijing #ItJustABegging

Semenenko and Alisa L. are with Mishin in China? I didn't know that. Is Semenenko age-eligible for the JGP events this season? Plushyfan, let's shake hands! It is not at all exaggerated to say that Alisa L. is the most beautiful female skater I have ever seen! 
And it is good to see her traveling with the Professor all the time in preparation for her Junior debut this season.

"I will tell you nearly secret information concerning the reason why I became a figure skater.
"I was not such a disciplined person, and I must confess that I did a lot of things which are not, um, not so good for a young boy. My father was then working at the ice skating club, and he was watching all the kids who were skating there. He noticed that lots of parents were staying around.
"Then he thought, 'This is exactly what I think my son, Alexei, needs: skating and being supervised by lots of parents all around!' This was the reason I started to skate.
"Actually, I started to skate very late. I was 15 years old when I first put skating blades on my feet. But, unexpectedly, I developed very quickly. I soon became one of the best Russian single skaters and one of the best Russian pair skaters.
(Mishin medaled at the 1968 and 1969 European championships, and at the 1969 World Championships, when he skated pairs with his then partner, renowned coach Tamara Moskvina.)

"What would you say if you were offered the opportunity to chat with/interview an honest to goodness legend? YES is what I said when I found out from Emanuel Sandhu and Guelph Skating Club Technical Director Gennady Kaskov that coach Alexei Mishin would be visiting for a seminar and staying on to offer private lessons for a week. Mr. Mishin brought his Russian students with him to train in Guelph and to access choreography with Emanuel and Lance Vipond.
Alexei said I could call him either Alexei or Professor when I introduced myself to him. I have seen him forever at competitions, and he is the sort of man who is always respectful to behind the scenes people like announcers, but what I didn’t know is that there is a lot of twinkle in his eyes as he spoke about his life.
I watched him from the boards as he taught several skaters and occasionally called on the talents of 2015 World Champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva to demonstrate for the students. He was in shoes on the ice with complete confidence that a) he wouldn’t slip and b) no one would accidentally run into him. Watching him in action dispensing information, I was fascinated by his process. There was a ton of talent on the ice that day, and a whole lot that I was (happily) watching.
At 75, he has accomplished a lot including coaching Olympians (most notably Olympic champion and medallist Evgeni Plushenko among many others.) He is an author of books focused on bio-mechanics, and a man with many honours and awards to his credit.
No surprise here that our conversation could have gone for many more hours. Alexei offers many insights into his life, his methods and the sport of figure skating. I enjoyed it so much I am going to re-listen to it myself!"

Yes! I've been waiting for this! I especially love that she says:

I think that's something that many don't know about the Professor - his sense of humour.
