Once again, the Pacific NW is under attack by fire. CBS news Saturday did a blurb about the magnificent Bombardier/DeHavilland/Canadair CL215/415/515 "Super Scooper" amphibian ...which IIRC is built in Calgary, that can scoop up 1400 gallons of water in 12 seconds. On our current fires, the fire boss decided to use retardant instead of water so I saw a constant parade of these aircraft over my house going back and forth from the fire base at Spokane International. There were at least 6. At $30 million apiece plus operating expenses, they arent cheep, But they work. These planes are used around the world....Well done, Canada.
