Is anyone else watching this show?
It's kind of like Survivor in a business setting. People are competing for a one year job as President of one of Donald Trump's companies. Salary would be $250,000/year.
The show started with 16 people divided into 2 teams - women vs. men. They all live together in a Trump suite. It really does not center on the dynamics of living together.
Each week, the Donald gives the teams a project. Each team must choose a project leader. The team that is most successful at the task is given a reward (i.e. tour of Trump's personal residence, chartered flight to Boston for night on town). The losing team has to face the 'board' which consists of Trump and 2 of his advisors who have each observed the teams complete their tasks. The team members are asked questions (i.e. why did the team fail? did the project leader do a good job? who didn't do a good job? etc.) The project leader must then choose 2 team members who did not perform well. The remainder of the team is 'safe' for the week. The project leader and the 2 chosen are grilled further and then wait in the reception area. Trump and his advisor discuss the 3 and then Trump picks who should be fired. They call the 3 back into the board room and Trump explains why one person is staying. He then discusses the attributes of the remaining 2 and then announces who will go and why.
So far, the women have won both tasks to date (selling lemonade, winning advertising account for a charter luxury airline).
As always, there are some stand out love-to-hate-them personalities and a bunch of nice guys. I guess I find it interesting because I can't believe how some of these people act. All of them have some business experience and at least moderate success, yet you can see them bumbling around like the rest of us.
Maybe Osten should've tried for this show.
