Hey, this thread is supposed to be about the brilliance of Michelle. How did it get hijacked like this?

No one deleted any of RD's posts. The pictures were deleted for copyright reasons. they were not RD's photos.

Why not use the links that you get them from?

They come from second hand sources- i.e. picture forums- so I download the images to my computer and then re-upload them to an image host. Other people have posted these images, and they are on many other forums, so I doubt there's any need for concern there. Anyway, I'm not planning on reposting any pics until this summer...

I 've been watching videos from You tube.com lately and I've been addicted to Aranjuez and Tosca both from the Nationals! I mean i love MK so much and it makes me cry everytime i see someone give it their all and let the audience feel that incredible connection to the music! I just love her and i hope she stays in the sport! For me she is one legend that i want to still watch more masterpieces from! I want to watch the Rach program but i guess we'll have to faith till next year to see it! I love her skating, it simply brings me to tears! I mean I love Sasha, Shizuka but there is something so magical in MK!!! She pours everything, it's amazing! I just don't like Bolero.....but i love almost all her programs! No one can sell it like her!!!! When she's on she is ON! Tosca was stunning! THat step sequence was mind boggling and surreal! I miss MK!!!!

How they started the performance with the leaderboard, showing Michelle behind after the short program, then how the program built as she laid down each element, plus her reaction afterward, going into he crowd, and when the camera panned back to show the teddy bears rainng down on the ice, then how she was just silly with joy in the kiss and cry with her coach, and then the marks came up...Oh my goodness! let me catch my breath!

I am hoping Michelle will come back for one more year so we can see her programs. It would be very disappointing if we didn't. I am nostalgic for 2004 U.S. Nationals LP also, because it was the last time we saw Michelle skate her best.

Well, at least I'm not foaming at the mouth about how great she is and how she can do no wrong, etc. (mainly because I DON'T think she's all that "great" as some make her out to be). But gush, continue as you like. It was kind of a TIC joke. Obviously the Kwanfans might not have gotten too much out of that, so never mind that comment. I take it back, OK? Happy now?

Oh yeah...those photos of Sasha you're talking about? GONE. Vanished into thin air. Deleted with the rest of my Olympic posts that took so much time to make. So that's a moot point now...no more, vamoosh, right?

Oh Red Dog, breath... Michelle Kwan is a legend and the best that ever did it (in my not so humble opinion...) I don't know what kind of person MK is off the ice & frankly, I don't care ~ but on the ice?!? Please. She's awesome & has the competitive record to prove it. So what you say is gushing in this thread is mearly actual factual information on the state of American figure skating in the past 10 years.

You might not like her, her skating or her rabid fan base, but you cannot deny her legend or success... sorry. And that's a fact.

no need to get defensive about her. It's ok, she'll survive. She doesn't need the Kwanfan horde to defend her.

Now, she's won lots of titles. That's fact. What is OPINION though is that "she's the best", "she's this", "she's that".

Facts cannot be argued. The amount of world titles, national titles, etc. she has won cannot be disputed (although whether she deserved them or not could, but that's not the point). But whether she is as great as you guys say she is CAN be. What about those people who go to sleep whenever she skates? Can't say they'll chime in with "she's the best", right?

I knew it was too good to be true.

What really cannot be disputed is that Michelle is the most popular and best loved U.S. lady figure skater on the scene. She won the USFS/Skating Magazine popularity contest so many times in a row that they had to name the trophy after her and say, OK, you have to give someone else a chance to win now, LOL.

She is beloved by her rabid cult (I consider myself at least a minor priest) as well as by more casual skating fans, to the extent that in the December cheesefest where she was hurting so bad she could hardly get her body up in the air at all, still the audience voted her the winner. :agree:

She is so revered an icon that major corporations like Coca Cola, Disney and Chevrolet paid her a million dollars just to take a plane ride to Italy and back.

Plus, what about that feeling of joy that takes possession of our hearts every time she strikes her opening pose? Or the happiness she shares wth us with when she rubs her nose and tugs her ear in the kiss and cry as those 6.0s flash across the screen? Them's facts, too, LOL.

I have to speak up here. Michelle is a legend. Legends are created by the observer as well as the event. They don't necessarily contain a word of truth.
Michelle is a wonderful skater. That's my honest opinion. Her consistant success is a sign of greatness and can be backed up by her record.
However, if you think that she's the greatest ever, you have the right to the opinion, but please don't try to pass it off as fact.

My opinion differs. This is a gush thread and so I'll leave you to gush. I just think Red Dog has as much fact and common sense going for him as anyone else in this thread.

Agreed. BUT, he never has much sense to not rainning on Kwanfans parade.
